dannysgirlsg1: (Danny - Indy muzik)

Just wanted to throw it out there that I am now OFFICIALLY in the history major.

Which means I was able to register for classes this morning. The spring schedule is as followed:

Monday

- WOH1023, Modern World to 1815, 10:10-11:00 AM
- ANT2138, World's Great Shipwrecks, 12:20-1:10 PM
- FRE1120, Elementary French I, 1:25-2:15 PM
- AMH2010, U.S History to 1865, 2:30-3:20 PM

Tuesday

- FRE1120

Wednesday/Friday is a repeat of Monday (with the absence of French on Fridays), and Thursday is a repeat of Tuesday.

So the two History classes I am required to take this coming semester or I'll have another hold on my registration due to major. The anthropology class is the one I was going to take this current semester, but was dropped. You know, the class I was most excited for. And French? Well, I still need my language credit and I want to try something different.

In other life news, I've decided to hold off on that personal 'thing' I said I needed to post about. It's really something I SHOULD mention before it comes up, but I can't bring myself to mention it just yet. Again, nothing TOO serious. But it involves Madre, and y'all should know me well enough to know how close I am to my mom.

Fandom wise, not much going on really. Wanna work on things, but don't really know what. Have started considering things for ChiCon next year (possible vid stuffs amongst other things). I know it's still early (and the damn tickets still aren't on sale - bastards!), but better to have a head start than to be behind (like I was this year, at least in regards to the vid). As for the holiday cards, I have seen all who have commented showing interests. Have you on my list because YES, I will be sending them all over. You guys just know how I get with replying back to comments sometimes.

And I think that's about it - wowsers, this intended short post ended up a bit long, didn't it?

~Pip

P.S. Ian McKellen is coming to campus (tomorrow, actually). I've known about this for a few weeks now...and the tickets to his show/thing/whatever are free, but limited. Didn't know TODAY was the day to pick them up, so I missed out. Yeah, I'm a bit bummed on that one.

Oh, how Glee just kicked it off fucking fantastically tonight. That show really is such a fantabulastic fun amazing thing. LoL. I may need to go and download tonight's episode. What I wouldn't give to see an actual football team go and do that in the middle of a game! (I could see it happening - like as a Senior prank or something like that).

Finally watching some Canucks! XD Well, actually I'm listening to it at this exact moment since I can't really update my journal AND watch the game. But I'm happy I finally get to WATCH some hockey rather than live vicariously through NHL.com and my Google desktop. Even if the Canucks are kinda losing right now (that's how it goes, though, isn't it?), I don't really mind. It IS still pre-season stuff.

Now I won't lie and say I'm ignorant to my own writing ability. It's one of the things, even if I say otherwise at times, I know I'm pretty damn good at. But even I impressed myself today. That paper on Narnia is due tomorrow. 1500 words. Nothing hard, really. But I felt more than unprepared and figured I'd have a hard time getting any coherent argument going. I only read L,W,W and part of Voyage of the Dawn Treader, so definitely felt unprepared. And then, all of a sudden, I found my argument and got the entire paper knocked out in an hour and a half. For some comparison, my roommate started the paper on Sunday and read ALL the required reading for it, was still working on it earlier this afternoon. But yeah...I'm really surprised. I was worried I'd still be working on the damn thing by this time. And yet, I'm not. LoL.

I, sadly, have decided I won't be rereading LOtR for this same religion class. I need to get a headstart on the Harry Potter reading, and I know LOtR well enough to not NEED to read it again (five times already). I WANT to read it, but she's not making it required to read it all and I want to enjoy the books and read them right. Maybe by the time summer comes around again, I'll find the time to give LOtR my sixth read. I hope so. I sooo love the serious.

Alrighty, before I forget, I wanna go check out iTunes and maybe incorporate some new tunes into Remmie. ;)

So I've collected them all, categorized them all, and tallied them all - here's the final quote count (don't worry, I'm not listing ALL the quotes again - they took up 7 pages of a yellow legal pad, front and back...i'm not THAT insane!):

So, I was getting much long-lost joy from watching LOtR today - and by this I mean the true goosepimpley appreciation of the epic scale, epic writing, and epic win of it all... and then something came to mind and it kinda pissed me off...

In which I give my thoughts on the sadness and fadness that is Twilight )

First, no I'm not watching Continuum on Skifficans. I love my SG-1 and I LOVE Continuum, but I refuse to give Skifficans the satisfaction of getting my undivided attention. I plan to watch it next week on the DVD when they show it again.

Instead, I've spent my evening watching various other things -

Cut 1 because I kinda rambled on here... )

Now I'm in a debate in what I'm going to watch when I'm done here. It's a toss up between a good movie and a bad one. I have so many GOOD movies I want to watch, and only one bad one. That's Jason X. The possible good options are Wall-E, Dark Knight, and Australia. I'll decide soon...I hope!

Went to Starbucks and read some Frankenstein today. Got 30-something pages read. It's a very EASY book to read considering how it's written. It's an EXCELLENT book. Fabulous writing. I've set my 'must read by' date for the 15th - that way I'll have a month to read Angels & Demons again before the movie comes out. I'm sure I'll finished Frankenstein before that date, but you never know.

So I got a new toy (literally)!!!!!:

Cut 2 because he's too wicked cool to go without one! )

That's all I've got for now. I've suddenly started considering working on fic b/c I promised [livejournal.com profile] dvshipper  I'd finish Part 3 of 'She's Everything' this weekend if she wrote me something awesome earlier in the week (hey, I gotta be a muse who bribes if the situation calls for it!) - it's almost finished as is. But now she's putting out more fic (YAY! WIN!) and I feel I must hold up my end of the bribe! So maybe my good movie/bad movie debate is for not....*ponders*

~Pip

EDIT: Apparently I'm going to a party, so all chill things are out! *snirk*

dannysgirlsg1: (Vala - Mother fuckin Princess)

Yeah, don't ask why I put that particular line - it may have somethin to do with the fact I'm listening to "A Knife in the Dark" at this very moment and youtubed that scene the quote is from Friday night (so I could have it on my favorites to watch whenever I want)...

But I just figured I'd update some since I'm kinda not  really procrastinating from doing things I need to get done... (I HAVE been productive today - really!)

So yesterday I had planned to work on a vid I said I'd work on, but ended up going to the mall with my friends. We had originally gone to see a movie, but decided to forgo the movie until next week for a little shopping instead (and no, I didn't get Twilight on DVD - still don't have it, and am apparently am the only person still without it!). Got a new pillow case because the Jack Sparrow one I've had for the past 5 years is kinda done - I don't WANT to retire him because I used him literally every day for the past 5 years, but now I can pretty much see through him. So the new pillow case is the Skeleanimals kitteh...also got a skeleanimals hat (the kitteh, of course) which can be seen below:

Teh most awesomenest hat EVAR... )

I got two shirts (from seperate stores) - one very vintagey looking one with a Geisha on it (which i'm wearing now) and a St. Patty's day one that was on sale which says 'I Heart Irish Boys' on it (which is very true, of course!). Then got some sunglasses since I'm FINALLY back to wearing contacts and can wear sunglasses again. The biggest purchase was a pair of wedges from Payless that, like the hat, couldn't be passed up! It's hard to find a good pair of wedges...

It looks like my page count for the past year will pretty much be where it is now come Wednesday, when I must end it. I've had chances to read in the past week, but haven't really had much urge to. It doesn't help that I bought a yellow legal pad (for the number one reason we LVOE yellow legal pads) and have been distracted into doing other things before class instead of reading. I'm gonna try and read tomorrow instead of writing more of the damn letter novella, but there's no guarantees...

I have to watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail tonight for ENC...but I have so many other things I WANT to watch (like Australia)... *sigh* And there's other things I want/need to get done... it sucks being busy.

So with that, I think I'll head off and watch Monty Python (i'll just SUFFER through it *snirk*), then get down to business with other things...

"Truth and Reconciliation" is on at 1...
"Sins of Omission" is on at 2...
MEGA SNAKE is on Skifficans at 3...
"Sins of Omission" AGAIN at 11...

And in NON-Michael awesome watchingness, I am watching Titanic now (which I will keep on watching until the last bit of Truth and Reconciliation, of course), and I'm sure when Mega Snake is over, Fellowship of the Ring will either just be starting or already started and I'll get to watch what I missed last night. Then it's The Two Towers until Sins of Omission is on again...

I officially love today! XD
