Fic - Doing It Wrong
Feb. 14th, 2010 08:10 pmWanted to do something for Valentine's Day - this is what I could come up with on short notice.
Title: Doing It Wrong
Summary: Seems they just can't get it right this year.
Rating: G
Spoilers/Warnings: Mild reference to Quest of Roses, though it is definitely not necessary to read that one.
A/N: No idea where this one came from...just wanted something for Valentine's, and this is what the brabbits delivered.

First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR dear flist! Hope 2009 was good to you, and 2010 will be just as good if not better! ;)
Been busy the past couple of days and keep forgetting to post here...which is why there ended up being three twitter posts back to back to back. *shakes head* Hate when I let that happen. Major fail!
So some of the things that have been going on:
- Got my hair cut...It's a lot shorter than it was and the shortest it's been in a long time. I did take before/after pics, but won't be posting those until I get pink back into it and have a final pic. Had a set back when I tried to put it in the day I got the haircut. The pink (it's a different brand b/c Hot Topic stopped selling the stuff I've been using for years) didn't take. I'm not sure why it didn't. I'm gonna try again tomorrow. If it still doesn't wanna work, I'll just have to wait until I get back to school where I still have enough left of the brand that DOES work. And I found it online so I can definitely order more.
- Put away the Christmas stuff yesterday and ended up with many battle wounds. O.o The trees just didn't want to go quietly after surviving the onslaught of cat attacks they'd gotten for a week. This is why I didn't take any pictures of them this year - they were kitteh jungle gyms almost immediately. The only minions of mine that didn't surrender to the attacks were Jack Sparrow and Indiana Jones. Even Yoda couldn't keep the cats at bay! LoL.
- Team U.S.A for hockey was announced today and Kesler is on the roster! XD They are the underdog team, but now I have a definite reason to root for them!
Alrighty, think that's it for now.

"But I am the chosen one."
Dec. 26th, 2009 10:28 pmJust wanted to make a quick post and say I hope everyone had a good Holidaymas!
Mine wasn't anything to get all excited about. The highlight was going to see Sherlock Holmes (after an impromptu trip to the bowling alley, where Smurf beat me by FOUR PINS! O.O). It was an AWESOMEPOPS movie! Everything I had hoped from it was there....all of it was awesomeness. That was some GOOD casting, putting Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law together. They had the banter down PERFECTLY...made the WHOLE movie (that and the amazing OST!). It was very, very, very reminiscent of Jack and Daniel. For seriously. If you are a fan of the J/D banter, methinks you'll love this movie!
I need to make a list of the small pile of shiny I got this year. I think I'll do that tomorrow night after I take one thing back and exchange it for a few smaller things (including the Sherlock Holmes OST). Definitely didn't get as much this year...not that THAT matters. It's just interesting to see the contrasts of one year to the next!
Alrighty...time to watch some more Canucks awesomeness.

"Rest. It means...rest."
Dec. 3rd, 2009 10:12 pmYeah, I won't be getting much time of that in the coming weeks...let's see here:
- I have 21 Holiday Cards I am hand making and sending out to people. I will be cutting down on some of the work by making copies of some of the pieces. There is NO WAY I can hand draw this stuff 21 different times. It's just easier to pay the money (since my printer is out of ink) to make the copies. Less stress on my sanity...since I have so many other things to rip what's left of it away.
- There's my
dv_exchange assignment that needs to be finished. That, to my complete surprise and relief, is coming together with very little hassle. There have been a few problems, but nothing that couldn't be solved with a little quick thinking. My GOAL is to maybe, hopefully, perhaps have it finished before I go home next Thursday.
- When I DO go home, I'll have to help take care of Madre. She is going in for surgery Wednesday morning for a hysterectomy (this is that personal issue I mentioned a while back that I never actually elaborated on). This means *I* will be the main house-keeper-upper while I'm home for X-mika. Add on top of that the fact that I'll also be WORKING over X-mika break. I can't just go three weeks at home without working. I NEED the dineros. Oh, and as a side note, SyFail in all it's EPICLY FANTASTIC TIMING is showing MERIDIAN on Wednesday. Way to make sure I'm a worried mess that day!
- Finals are next week. The fact that I feel I'll do the best on my math exam frightens me a bit. I am so completely unprepared for the other two, though I'm hoping to rectify that problem this weekend with mucho studying (much like I did last year for my physical anthro. class). On the plus side, this means I have NO CLASSES until January. HUZZAH! Of course next semester's schedule, as y'all have already seen, is gonna be crazy. It's very unlikely I'll get to do what I want for my birthday because of it, but nothing can be done about that. Three of the classes I'll be taking are required (including that French class). *shrugs* Oh well.
Alrighty, want to crack down on this assignment. I may just be able to get it finished tonight if the proper flow and drive from the brabbits comes nicely!
~Pip
Also, with Lu's amazing performance and deserved shutout tonight, using that icon to celebrate him! Because...ya know...he rocks awesomepops!

First off, I'M HOME!!!! XD XD XD Got home last night. The only downside was I had about 10 minutes left of Star Trek to watch on Remmie - I literally turned it off right after Scotty said 'I'm giving it all she's got, Captain.' Might finish that off tonight after I put Lord Danny down for sleep.
It's fun (and equally annoying) being back in Kitteh Central. And the number of cats allowed in my room at night for sleep has now been upped to two. William is now in here with Sikozu and myself. Sikozu has pulled rank and is on the lap...but William seems to like sitting on top of the tv. He was watching Glee from up there tonight.
Speaking of Glee, HOE-MG did I cry!!! It was absolutely one of the most beautiful moments of the entire show so far having our glee kids singing with the hearing impaired group. And then them doing True Colors (which I have already DLed, of course)at the end had me tearing up again. My GOD, I love this show!!
Picked up the latest issue of TV Guide today. HELLO, HAWKMAN. XD Also, since I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere yet (which might just be me being unobservant), Michael is mentioned in the section where they talk about upcoming Sanctuary eps -
( Excerpt cut for spoilers )
- This is on p.32, in the Winter Sci-Fi Preview section.
Alrighty, I think that's it for now. I'm looking forward to tomorrow - not just because it's Turkey Day and I've been DREAMING of this meal for months now, but also because the Canucks play and I may/might/hopefully PLEASE will get to watch it on the living room TV!! XD

PSA - Michael Shanks
Nov. 11th, 2009 02:06 pmWas just over checking Lifetime's schedule for December with the intent of finding Under the Mistletoe listed somewhere...
And I found it! XD
Under the Mistletoe will be shown Sunday, Dec. 6th at 5 pm (EST) on Lifetime.
Make a note since that's still a bit off, though I'm sure it'll be repeated again (the announcement, not the movie...it's not showing up again in the schedule as I keep going through it) by me (and probably on MSOL).
Just thought I'd get a jump on it and give a early heads up now before I forgot to.

"Ring, ring. Aren't you gonna pick it up."
Nov. 2nd, 2009 09:44 pmSo let's see...what to post about.
Had a rather boring Halloween. Got dressed up, of course, but we ended up having no where to go. Had more...well, it was more exciting the night before when David shared some beverages with us. Made watching the Canucks get their asses handed to them by the Ducks less painful to watch.
Of course watching the Canucks shut out the Avs (the top team in their conference) last night was SWEEET!
Am excited about the
dv_exchange this year. Looks like it's gonna be epic!
Will be heading home for Thanksgiving in a few weeks. I'm very happy about this. Have been getting more and more homesick with each passing day. This is the first year that I haven't gone home before Thanksgiving, and I'm really noticing the difference.
Oh lovely, New Moon commercials starting on TV already. *sigh*
Nothing else, really. Trying to find something creative to work on (fic, vid...something!), but it's just not happening.

"Are you cracking up little man?"
Oct. 26th, 2009 11:06 pmJust wanted to throw it out there that I am now OFFICIALLY in the history major.
Which means I was able to register for classes this morning. The spring schedule is as followed:
Monday
- WOH1023, Modern World to 1815, 10:10-11:00 AM
- ANT2138, World's Great Shipwrecks, 12:20-1:10 PM
- FRE1120, Elementary French I, 1:25-2:15 PM
- AMH2010, U.S History to 1865, 2:30-3:20 PM
Tuesday
- FRE1120
Wednesday/Friday is a repeat of Monday (with the absence of French on Fridays), and Thursday is a repeat of Tuesday.
So the two History classes I am required to take this coming semester or I'll have another hold on my registration due to major. The anthropology class is the one I was going to take this current semester, but was dropped. You know, the class I was most excited for. And French? Well, I still need my language credit and I want to try something different.
In other life news, I've decided to hold off on that personal 'thing' I said I needed to post about. It's really something I SHOULD mention before it comes up, but I can't bring myself to mention it just yet. Again, nothing TOO serious. But it involves Madre, and y'all should know me well enough to know how close I am to my mom.
Fandom wise, not much going on really. Wanna work on things, but don't really know what. Have started considering things for ChiCon next year (possible vid stuffs amongst other things). I know it's still early (and the damn tickets still aren't on sale - bastards!), but better to have a head start than to be behind (like I was this year, at least in regards to the vid). As for the holiday cards, I have seen all who have commented showing interests. Have you on my list because YES, I will be sending them all over. You guys just know how I get with replying back to comments sometimes.
And I think that's about it - wowsers, this intended short post ended up a bit long, didn't it?

P.S. Ian McKellen is coming to campus (tomorrow, actually). I've known about this for a few weeks now...and the tickets to his show/thing/whatever are free, but limited. Didn't know TODAY was the day to pick them up, so I missed out. Yeah, I'm a bit bummed on that one.
