"I'm in!"

First off, I'M HOME!!!! XD XD XD Got home last night. The only downside was I had about 10 minutes left of Star Trek to watch on Remmie - I literally turned it off right after Scotty said 'I'm giving it all she's got, Captain.' Might finish that off tonight after I put Lord Danny down for sleep.

It's fun (and equally annoying) being back in Kitteh Central. And the number of cats allowed in my room at night for sleep has now been upped to two. William is now in here with Sikozu and myself. Sikozu has pulled rank and is on the lap...but William seems to like sitting on top of the tv. He was watching Glee from up there tonight.

Speaking of Glee, HOE-MG did I cry!!! It was absolutely one of the most beautiful moments of the entire show so far having our glee kids singing with the hearing impaired group. And then them doing True Colors (which I have already DLed, of course)at the end had me tearing up again. My GOD, I love this show!!

Picked up the latest issue of TV Guide today. HELLO, HAWKMAN. XD Also, since I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere yet (which might just be me being unobservant), Michael is mentioned in the section where they talk about upcoming Sanctuary eps -

Excerpt cut for spoilers )

- This is on p.32, in the Winter Sci-Fi Preview section.

Alrighty, I think that's it for now. I'm looking forward to tomorrow - not just because it's Turkey Day and I've been DREAMING of this meal for months now, but also because the Canucks play and I may/might/hopefully PLEASE will get to watch it on the living room TV!! XD

"I'm confident." "Me too." "As am I."

The Canucks are down 1, but I KNOW they can pull this off. So how convenient that ep of SG-1 was on tonight to provide the perfect subject line quote!

So here's some things:

~ Reason why I love FSU: I get opportunities to see movies on the big screen I never would see elsewhere. Last night, they showed Singin' in the Rain. OF COURSE I was there to see it (Madre would've disowned me otherwise). And wowsers, I have a new favorite movie. First time I sat down and watched the whole thing - fell in love within the first 5 minutes. Now I must own this movie.

~ I mentioned I haz Star Trek, yet I still haven't watched it. I couldn't tonight with the game on (and I already mentioned the Canucks withdrawal). Hoping I can do that tomorrow (if I don't go see New Moon...please, don't judge. I want to see it more for the hilarity than anything else. I'm the chick who LOVES Mega Snake, remember?!)...if not, I will be putting it on Remmie for the roadtrip home.

~ Was all set on a crackberry for my next phone (have a name planned for it and everything)...like dead set. Contract is up for renewal this coming week, so I'm up for a new phone. And Crackberry was my hard set choice...and then I saw an add for Alias 2. HOE-MG!! I have the first gen. Alias...Daniel II, of course. And i LOOOVE it. And this new edition is just....SO PRETTY. DAMN YOU, VERIZON. I was SO SET. Now I have phone dilemma!

~ I have been in a very sketching mood lately. Maybe it's b/c ChiCon is officially on and I can start working on the gift (something for both Michael and Lexa this time...though, in all truth, I had something for both of them this year). It will be artwork, of course. I've been tweeting a lot of the stuff I've sketched/doodled in the past few days. Check out the Tweet Post for those (including Spock eye and beginning stages of a Kirk sketch).

~ 3 DAYS until I GO HOME! HUZZAH!!!

*sigh* I fail at thinking of a quote tonight...

So, here's how things have been going:

~ STAR TREK!! I HAZ IT!!!! XD XD XD

~ HOE-MG, I have never loved a super hero more in my LIFE. For serious wowsers.

~ What made my day: Guy working at a kiosk in the mall was listening to Defying Gravity from Glee on his laptop as we walked by. HOE-MG, you are my new favorite gay man, random kiosk dude! XD

~ I sparkled like Vampire today. Tested out the 'products' available in Hot Topic..which included body shimmer and glittering scented body mist (OF COURSE they have these - all the twitards would go batshit wonko over being able to SPARKLE like vampire). Now I'm a big fan of glitter. Have loved it long before 'sparkling' adopted such a negative connotation. And the stuff (at least the body shimmer - the scented crap smelled so disgustingly sickeningly sweet. See what they did there??) did give a nice shimmer effect. BUT NOT FOR $18.50. Holy fucking brain failure, batman Hawkman! (Oh yes, I went there. No other super hero exists anymore. See, this is what him playing these parts does. *nods*). You can get body shimmer in the bargain bins at Walmart for like $1. Twitards are crazy insane...

...And on the same Hot Topic note, WHY do the guys get all the COOL shirts?!? Angry Beavers, Reptar, Ahhh! Real Monsters? What do the girls get?? A Jennifer's Body shirt and TWILIGHT. Fail...epic, epic fail.

~ Saw the most beautiful cat today in the pet store by Best Buy. He was so sweet and loveable. His name was Donte, and the adoption fee was....wait for it...$25. O.o Dammit, if I didn't like in a dorm! He would sooo be home with me now. Such an adorkable little cat.

~ Finally got to work on my assignment for the [livejournal.com profile] dv_exchange . I was worried about the prompts speaking to me and running out of time, but I got a good portion worked on last night. Feeling a little better about it now.

~ 5 DAYS UNTIL I GO HOME!!!!!

~Pip

P.S. - In Canucks withdrawal. The last game was played on Saturday (and they KICKED ASS). The next one isn't until Friday night (which means I'll be missing the Back to the Future triple feature at the SLC). Five days is a long stretch in hockey time and it SUCKS. And, to make it worse, was looking at some hockey magazines today and they had full page pics of some of my fav players. But I couldn't justify paying $8 for a magazine JUST for one pic. *sigh*

P.S. (squared) - NOOOOOO, NOT THE EGGOS! WHHHHHHHYCOME?! *wails*

"They've got you trapped, Rose."

Am listening to one of my 'My Heart Will Go On' movie remix versions...LoL. (I haz two. If anyone knows of any others, wanna let me know?? ;) )

So, here I am, posting from my Ragans dorm room. It's compact...I don't want to say small because I REALLY don't need that much space, especially with a commons room to spread out in if need be. But this room is all for me. I am sharing with no one. You know how nice that is?? If my roommates piss me off, I can just close and lock my door. Though I doubt they'll piss me off...but it's nice to know I can shut out any intrusions. A very comforting thing to know.

The move here wasn't fun or easy...if you saw what I what I was tweeting about, you'd know we got stuck on the Atchafalya Basin Bridge for two hours. From what Smurfinator found out, a 5 year old and a 3 year old had been ejected from a vehicle. What I want to know is why they weren't in some kind of child restraint to begin with?! Total shame, I tell you. The things that could be AVOIDED if people weren't so damn clueless.

And then, of course, after that everything just became something for the Smurf to bitch at...including me right before we left. And I wasn't even INVOLVED in the damn argument they (that being Madre and Smurf) were having. But of course it always ends up being my fault. Whatever.

Though, it wasn't cool to find out right in the middle of their screaming match that Star Trek wouldn't be showing tonight. From what I understand, they couldn't get something or other to get it to play. So they moved the showings around. Now it's going to be showing Friday/Saturday/Sunday. *sigh* Not that I'd rather be here seeing it than where I'll be, but still. I was REALLY looking forward to seeing it tonight...being able to say I saw it 5 times in the theater. Oh well.

But I WILL be able to say I've seen Curse of the Black Pearl 11 times on the big screen come tomorrow evening! You know how cool that is?!?! YEARS afterward, I can increase the number! *dances*

So I've taken pics of my room here (and the commons room/kitchen too), but I've decided to wait until after Chicago to post them. I have no idea what I'll be coming back with this year, so figured it's best to wait.

Alrighty, I just realized I need to make a to-do list for tomorrow, otherwise I'll forget to do or pack something.

~Pip

P.S. Don't forget the three later Victor eps of Burn Notice are on tomorrow at 9, 10, and 11 AM (EST) on USA. You all KNOW I'd love to just sit and watch them, but that's not likely to happen. But figured I'd give a little reminder here (as Jessy Greene's 'Time Bomb' plays - double points for all who get the significance! ;) )

"Now it's time to come home..."

Well, as always, plans have changed.

Apparently, we are leaving sooner than originally planned. I'm both glad and sad about this. I'm happy because I pretty much have nothing left to do and really just want to get started on the riding back. I'm sad because it means less time left at home. I'm already missing my kittehs and I haven't even left the house yet. It's really mind-blowing how fast this summer went by...It seriously feels like it just started.

So, as far as I know, we are driving until we reach Pensacola Pepsi-Cola, and then stopping and getting a hotel room to sleep in for a few hours. That way we all won't be all exhausted when we get to FSU and have to move. And that way they won't be exhausted when they drive back after moving me in. As long as I get there as soon as the dorms are open, I'm good. I sorta have a time limit since Star Trek is showing tomorrow and I already intend to see it.

I'm just glad I have Thursday to get stuff taken care of too, before flying out to Chicago. Otherwise, I'd feel so completely overwhelmed. LOL!

Alrighty, I think that's it. I just wanted to make a final post from home for the next several months. It's the important things, ya know? *snirk*

~Pip

P.S. And I apologize for the LoudTwitter post last night. It posted after I went to bed (I didn't think it'd post at all), and without the new settings. I know it usually takes a few days for new settings to kick in, and that they just got the site up and running again. I didn't tweet much today, so there shouldn't be a long post tonight (if the new settings haven't kicked in by then).

"Funny. Didn't seem that painful when you were doing it to the horse!"

Since mentioning to taraleesg1 yesterday that we will be reattempting Slinkie and stairs, I've been in an Ace Ventura-y mood. LOL.

Just a few quick notes to make tonight:

- Watched the SGA episodes for my marathon today. Started LTOTGC, but the gas pumps ended up breaking sometime between yesterday and today and of course RIGHT when I start the damn movie, the guy comes along to fix it. So I ended up working some more on 'Choices' while I waited, and by the time he left I was totally engrossed in the story and writing and just never picked back up with the movie. I plan to continue on with the marathon, though idk if I'll start back with Lost Treasure, or hold off on that until I'm at school. I don't think I'll have the time tomorrow.

- Tomorrow is for finishing packing, doing laundry, and trying to enjoy my last day at home. We're leaving tomorrow night (technically Wednesday morning) between midnight and 1. That means tonight is my last night in MY bed for a long while. *sigh* At least this coming year, I will have my OWN room. That's something to look forward to.

- Planning on seeing Star Trek both showings Wednesday night at the SLC. Since i'll be off doing fun conventiony things the other days it's showing, I figured I might as well enjoy all of it that I can before I leave. Oh, and Curse of the Black Pearl is playing Thursday night (like Ace Ventura and Jurassic Park did last year). Goonies is the second movie, and despite loving the movie sooo much I do not think I'll be staying to see that one. Pirates though??? OH HELL YES! I've been saying how much I'd give to see the first one on the big screen again. *dances*

- That watch I ordered? I got it and I love it. Except when it decides to be icky and stop working for short periods of time. Why do I end up with the retarded watch? *headdesk*

- LoudTwitter lives again. I've set it up to try and have it post behind a cut automatically. We'll see how it goes. I debated about setting it up again, but decided to do it b/c it's such a relief having the tweets archived and easily accessible here. Especially with the Twitter Nazis fucking with tweet counts.

- GOT MY PHOTO OP EMAILS TODAY!! XD XD XD XD XD ('Nuff said)

That's about it. Thinking I'll head off early tonight....enjoy my last night here. *sigh* The summer went by too fast. :(

"Makin' the world a better place...starts with one more smilin' face..."

Yes, I can sing the whole 'Put a Smile On' song. Pathetic +1000! XP

So since Madre and Smurfinator are downstairs watching 'Run Silent, Run Deep' *will not think dirty thoughts about an old classic movie...will not think dirty thoughts about an old classic movie*, I'm able to be up here rather than being a good socialable daughter. Which means the day's post comes earlier! Yay!

Big happenings of the day - worked on fic. It was only ONE fic, unfortunately, but it did get worked on. If it hadn't been so busy in the box, and there hadn't been massive failed attempts at using Skype, I'm sure a lot more could've been done. Hopefully tomorrow/Monday I'll be able to work on some more. My goal is to have all the major series updated by the end of June. Big undertaking, especially when not all the brabbits for these series are speaking to me, but I'll try my damndest to get it done! Btw, the fic I worked on today is She's Everything.

Hooked up Madre's webcam to Lord Danny Thursday night. And I love it! It's so nice to SEE both [livejournal.com profile] taraleesg1  and [livejournal.com profile] dvshipper  when I talk to them (though, of course, hearing them/seeing them together seems to be a problem)!! Now we can REALLY do some serious SG-1 watching/commentarying...ABYSS anyone?! *squees at the mere thought of it!* OH, and LOST CITY...AND NEED...AND PAST AND PRESENT...FIAD....THE FIFTH RACE...All of our favorites!!! Also, if anyone would like to look me up on Skype, my username is the same as here: dannysgirlsg1.

Hoping to convince Madre to take me to the movies tomorrow so I can see Star Trek for a third time. It really is such love. There hasn't been a Scifi movie of Star Trek's calibur IN THEATERS like this for a while now, IMHO. Not since Serenity, I think. And I just LOVE seeing EXCELLENT movies in theaters as many times as possible. Moving to La has made it difficult and I haven't really expected to see a movie more than once in the past few years, but Star Trek is worth the hassle.

I still wanna know if there's anything you guys want me to go up and ask Michael at Chicago?? I'm desperately trying to come up with SOMETHING to ask, and nothing good enough is coming to me. So of course I'm coming to my lovely flist for possible questions. I know there is still time left before the con, and I'll be nagging asking again, but doesn't hurt to ask now too! Please! I would love to make a shout out to the flist while up there...will gladly represent our little corner of the interwebz here! ;D

Okie donkie, I need to go make sure the pics are in order for the picspam post that will be coming (since tomorrow is the 31st of May and I will NOT go without doing it), and then will be hopefully working on some more fic.

~Pip

the hockey P.S. - Red Wings win Game 1!!! XD (And I HOPE I get my jersey BEFORE going to Florida...it's been ordered by now, right?)

"I got my financial advise from a man in a bunny suit."

Yes, I did watch the '06 Farscape Con DVD today - why do you ask? *snirk*

Just a couple things to mention tonight...

- Have returned the two disks of Andromeda I had from netflix, and now must wait for them to go ALL the way back to Tallahassee before they can send out some more (they would be coming from Baton Rouge now). I do have specific episodes on DVD, but I really don't want to break my S.4 flow! I really wish Skifficans would show it again in the rotation...but they cycled that out pretty quickly, didn't they. Just like you don't see Firefly in the rotation hardly at all...I'm surprised they still show SG-1 as much as they do!

Alrighty, enough ranting about the channel known as Skifficans...I really could go on for hours.

- So yesterday, we went to Smurfinator's dad's antique shop. He wants to get it back open, and as my way of paying him back for the Dragon*Con ticket, I'm kinda obligated to go and work. Now it's an antique shop, so of course there's interesting stuff in there. But it's usually nothing I want to bring home or has enough interestingness to hold my attention for long. So I got bored quick, and knowing I have to go back isn't very exciting. But I did come out with some stuff that was right up on alley. There was a whole shit load of movie posters there, and I managed to get a poster for From Hell, Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down, and Atlantis (the Disney version). And their not the little kind either - I mean the in the theater display size posters. I was very pleased with that - especially the From Hell one. That is one of my top five favorite Johnny Depp movies!

- Saw Star Trek for the second time last night! XD I so love that movie! And I even convinced Madre and Smurfinator to go see it with me! Unfortunately,  I didn't take into account the way the movie was shot, and Madre had to leave the theater b/c it was making her nauseous, but Smurfinator actually really liked it (and he was the one most against seeing it). We're hoping when it comes out on DVD that Madre will be able to watch it then. And she asked me if I now wanted to watch TOS and get all caught up with that. I told her no b/c I know I wouldn't be able to appreciate it and don't want to be one of 'those' people (if you get my meaning). I'll stick with being a fan of this new version - this will be my participation on the Star Trek world.

- Got two of the Photo Op tickets for Chicago today - the duo one for Michael and Amanda, and then the individual Michael one. When you think about it, I probably should've gone for the Amanda one first considering I already have two with Michael...but then that wouldn't be me and y'all would probably have to hide from the impending doom (since, you know, I hadn't picked Michael first...). But all is well b/c the Michael one has now been purchased. I'll be getting the Amanda one next, of course. IDK is I want the Gary Jones one yet...I'll probably end up getting it while I'm there.

- The Ft. Lauderdale trip is a DONE DEAL!!!! *dances spaztically* Smurfinator purchased the plane tickets today!!!! This makes me so happy!!! I'll be GOING HOME... even if we don't get to do much 'vacation' type things, we'll still be where I spent my entire childhood, and where I still wish I lived! *sigh* Two cons AND a trip back to S. FL?! Could I really ask for much more??

Alrighty then. I think I'm done for this post. I'm gonna be posting the answers to the FEW remaining quotes...and I think I might have to duck from thrown objects when you see where one of them is from. *snirk*

P.S. - Red Wings PWNED today! Hawks TOTALLY got their asses handed to them! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
