As per [livejournal.com profile] dvshipper 's request, I will be quoting the Mummy for the next little while...

So here's some random stuff...

Boy do I know how to ramble! )

~ My kittehs are weird!:

This is Suess Cat drinking out of the kitchen faucet - she will come bounding into the kitchen and jump up there the instant she hears the faucet running...because she's weird...and she also stalks me... (of course Sikozu has been just sitting and staring at me all day - it bothers me!)

That's all for now...I think I'm gonna go see how many DVD label stickies I actually have stuck to my wall (are you thoroughly confused now? *snirk*)

~Pip

P.S. - Do we know when the next SG-1 novel comes out?? I mean, Hydra came out in December, so it should be coming around to th next release soon... I just like to be on top of these things...

P.S. (squared) - She's staring again...creepy little Sputnik! No, correction, she's running around the room like a spaz...Another correction - she just used me as her personal stepping stool so she could get on the nightstand to be able to get in the window...because she didn't want to jump on the bed. So again I say: My kittehs are weird!

I swear, the best part of Family Guy is the random scenes they 'announce' before showing them - I love it!

Just a few things I wanted to mention before crawling into bed and willing this tremendous headache to go away. It comes and goes, which is a bitch! I get in a groove of doing things, and then BAM, it's back and I don't feel up to doing shit! *headdesk*

Turned in Paper 1 on Monday - I think I did pretty well, especially considering I actually reached the page requirement (Apparently several in the class didn't realize 6-8 pages literally meant SIX - 8 pages, not 5 and a half *sigh* Thankfully I had just over 7 full pages)! I mapped it out well, though I realized today there was one more point I  really wanted to touch on that I forgot to, but it's not a big deal. If anyone's interested in reading about Galahad of the Arthurian Myths compared and contrasted to Daniel, I'll happily post it here. I would just post it, but since no one really cared about Daniel put through Joseph Campbell's Heroes Model, I'm seeing if anyone cares at all  - well, at least I can get some comfort to know Michael actually accepted to read that one (whether he actually did is highly debatable, but one can only hope, right?). So if you're interested in reading, just drop a request in a comment.

I've been soldiering through Roswell. It's insane I've been "reading" this book for two months now. Actually, all it's really been doing is sitting in my purse most of these two months. But I've finally decided it's been toted around and beat up enough. I'm gonna get it finished by next week - it's easier now that I have a little breather between class things. I'm not really sure what i want to read next - if it'll be another SG novel or if I'll mix things up a bit. I'll let y'all know.

Burn Notice tomorrow night!!! Victor's back (however briefly) tomorrow night!!! *dances*

Oh, and speaking of...Skittles (yes, because this confuses NO ONE *snirk*), how about those clips MSOL posted a link to?? If I wasn't already pretty excited for this movie to begin with, now I'm dying for it to air! I watched all four clips, of course, and have got a few theories going around. It's hard to make any firm decisions considering it's only four clips and they don't really say too much, but it could go a few obvious ways. Now I'm practically chomping at the bit for more. I just wish we knew when this one was airing! That way I could know how long i have to anticipate!

Okie donkie, that's about all I've got right now. My fronache is making me wish for my bed so much (and when I say my bed, i mean MY bed back HOME that comes equipped with lots of cuddle!kittehs - I want my Sputnik, dammit!)

So I finised Alliances yesterday. I have to say it's my LEAST favorite of the entire series that I've read so far. It wasn't the story that was bad - it was actually VERY good and definitely SG-1... it's a handful of other things I need to point out b/c they just irked me so much that I had trouble even getting through parts...

I'll put it behind a cut since it WILL be spoiler heavy...

dannysgirlsg1: (John - *wins*)

Took me all of 5 DAYS to finish off 'City of the Gods'. That's right, my dear flist, I have already knocked the first book off the list! Considering the fact of my pathetic lack of novel reading in the past year and half or so, and that I also wrote TWO fics, started a third one, went to classes, did homework, saw a movie at the SLC, as well as watched A New Hope and the end of TTT in those days (as wel as watched SG-1, of course) - that's not bad!

I am QUITE pleased with myself, for I am taking time out of my day specifically for reading! Novels - how I've missed them!

So here's here's the final post for the 'City of the Gods' Chapter Cross-Off (as well as my thoughts on the book compared to the other SG-1 Fandemonium novels I'v read so far):

Alrighty, now i'm off to see Cloverfield - I'll try and post my Summer Reading list later, with it's much need adjustments...

So I was a good girl today (don't get any ideas now!) and spent an hour and a half at Starbucks diving into the first book on my list, which just happens to be 'City of the Gods', the 4th novel  in the SG-1 Fandemonium Series. So this post is gonna be for the chapter cross-off list, like I did for Local Custom. And I have a little duty for anyone who cares: If I don't update this after a few days, don't be afraid to drop a friendly nudging comment to keep my ass in gear here...

And for those who get it:

I ALREADY have an AM, and I'm only 4 chapters in! SCORE!

Yeah, I'm feeling not very cheery right now - there's just a whole combination of uncool things that seem to be hitting me at once and it's getting me down...

Paris wrote on my wall on facebook, asking if I wanted to go see American Gangster tonight at the SLC. I wrote back sure, and what time cause I wasn't sure when and how many times it was playing. Well, I'm waiting and waiting and waiting for a reply, and at 7 decided to check to see what time it actually was playing - turns out it started at 6:30, and I never got any reply back from Paris...I'm kinda hoping she ended up not going instead of just not going with me. It's very highly likely it's the former thought, but I can't help but worry it's the second one...

I'm getting that feeling that the thing that always happens when I've been hanging out with a group of people for long enough is starting to happen. For some reason, whoever they are always seems to stop wanting to do things with me. It's happened so often that I'm pretty certain it's something I unnoticably do.

And I'm wondering if it's something I did again....*sigh* Cause seriously, I haven't really seen my friends since Tuesday (which was quite briefly)...and haven't really talked with them either. I'm sure I'm just over reacting, but I can't help but feel scared I've alienated myself again.

I'm also feeling quite painfully homesick. I miss my mom, and my kitties, and my home, and Ted. I miss the atmosphere of home, and I just want nothing more than to be there right now. I miss yelling across the house and sitting on the porch and dealing with the bazillion animals drama...*sigh* The feeling only hits home more when I think about my birthday in a week - first time I'll be away from my mom on my birthday. I'm not liking that...really, I'm not. Yesh, I'm a mama's girl and I have no shame in admitting it.

There's an essay I have to write for Myth which is due tomorrow. It's only 500 words, so it really won't take me that long, but in the mood I'm in, I really don't want to do it. I've been putting it off all day...and plan on putting it off a little more. It'll get done tonight, I promise you - but probably not until later tonight.

And oh, did I mention it's Valentine's Day and my Forever!Valentine isn't here anymore? God, I miss her so much. And the longer it's been since that day, it just seems to be getting harder and harder to live with it. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around? *sigh* I'm trying not to cry and let this upset me, but the sad thoughts are winning.

Even so, I'm trying to make myself think happy thoughts and remember all the greatness that was my Forever!Valentine....So I bring ya'll some picspam of her, because well, she's worth it!

Forever!Valentine picspam! )

Well, slightly feeling better. Just txted everyone saying I had Valentine's stuff for them if they wanted them, and Paris txted me back. So at least I haven't been completely forgotten *shrugs*

Today hasn't all been sucky. Good things that have happened:

Finally got Billy - came Tuesday after all my impatient waiting. I haven't actually put it on the comp yet, but it's sitting on the bookshelf right next to me, just waiting for when I'm ready. I at least want to finish the Farscape novel that isn't mine and I stole with permission before I started listening to that.

Also got Barque of Heaven on Tuesday. It was quite nice 'cause I got both of them at the exact same time. It made me very very happy.

And then right after picking up those, I got back to my room and found out Ben is gonna be at Chicago Con. More exciting news in that regard - I went ahead and bought his autograph ticket (a $70 purchase, mind you). There's only going to be a limited number, so of course I had to get it. I mean, it's BEN BROWDER - it's rare that he does cons and this is going to be his first Stargate Con - how could I pass that up.

I'm planning on getting all the photo op tickets over the summer when I'm working (whether it's at Hebert's or somewhere else is still up in the air right now - not my own choice, btw). Thankfully, none of those (at least so far) are limited, so there's no rush to get them just yet.

Madre told me just a little bit ago on the phone that she went ahead and did something for next week - that was all she said, and obviously it's gonna be for my birthday.

But yeah, Ted called me and asked what kind of camera I bought. This was how the conversation went:

Ted: ...What kind of camera did you buy?
Me: A good one.
Ted: A good one...well, what kind of good one?
Me: A better one that you bought.

See how I miss being home? These are how all our conversations go, whether it be between me and Ted, or me and my mom, or Ted and my mom, or all three of us. Completely soaked in sarcasm and witty remarks, a concept that most people around here don't seem to grasp. Maybe that's why I come off the way I do to most people - b/c I was raised to be sarcastic and a smartass and I just can't help it.

Anywho, I've got some Farscape from netflix to play around with, so I'm gonna go. There's probably some macaronies and Capri Sun (which I happily got more of Friday night at Walmart!) in my near future!

If you really want to have a good laugh, I highly recommend the commentary for 'The Way We Weren't' - 45 mins of just Ben and Claudia talking over an episode of Farscape. *Sigh* It PWNS!

So yeah, what is there to update about...

Oh, how about the plane that crashed down on Ocala, and completely blacked out our entire campus? Is that interesting enough?

Plane crash in Tallahassee...

The crash knocked out power to a large portion of Florida State University's campus and west side of Tallahassee.

Yeah, try ALL of the campus. The only light's that were on were the emergency lights in the halls and the stairwells of the buildings. I was just sitting here, making some icons (which I will be posting probably by the end of tonight when I feel I'm satisfied with quality and quantity) and watching Jurassic Park (It was actually kinda funny cause right before JP came on, I had put the OST on, and was listening to Theme from Jurassic Park thinking to myself 'WOW, I really want to watch this right now.' And then not even 30 seconds later I was like WAIT! I had suddenly remembered AMC was showing it - and it had JUST started...right in time to see Alan's spiel to the little boy "Point is - You are alive when they start to eat you.") when BAM, the room goes dark.

Of course it didn't scare me - I'm so used to the power going out an home that I was like okie day. But then of course I was like wait, this isn't home, this shouldn't be happening (and i knew it wasn't just Kellum cause the guys out on the basketball court all shouted when it got dark). So I opened the door (found the hall lights were on), and talked with some of the girls on my floor. Then I called Paris and went down to the fourth floor - had to use the stairs, of course, since the elevators weren't working - and there were people stuck in them. Some people were lucky enough cause one of the cars stopped right at the tenth floor - the doors were pried open when I walked past it. We decided that we should take advantage of the blackout and explore the campus in the dark. So Paris, Shaq, Marymee and I set out - with our cameras, flashlights, and my Jeep lantern (of course I have a latern *it's electric* - I was raised redneck, afterall).

And we ended up at Landis - in the fountain. So what if it was just below 50 outside *shrugs* It was like a chain reaction - Marymee climbed in, and I followed, then Shaq and Paris came in. Then Paris and Marymee got into a splashing fight, and we all ended up pretty wet by the end of it.

Because Marymee is a pure genius, she asked a pretty cute guy in a golf cart if we could get a ride back to Kellum - and he took us! It was pretty sweet! So we got back, changed, and then started out for Publix (where the plane crashed) cause we wanted to see it. But we didn't even get to Stadium Dr. when the power came back on. We still kept walking, thought, and met up with Amanda and Brian. Arby's was open as we were walking back, so we stopped there and ate. Then after Brian came back to Kellum and took a shower, we all set out for WALLY WORLD! (And by this time, it was midnight - FUN STUFF!)

Had some good fun there - played around with the toys. This consisted of getting into a lightsaber fight with Brian (WHICH I WON, OF COURSE!) and playing with the hula hoops and such. Then, for some unknown reason, they had a Richard Simmons Aerobersize video playing in the hunting/fishing section - so we started doing the dance exercises!

We did end up buying some food (and I got two new pillows and mattress pad for my bed FINALLY), which we made this morning for breakfast.

But yeah, after last night's escapades, my voice is seriously gone. Completely shot. I guess that's what I get for running around like a crazey person (me? Run around? crazey person? NO! NEVER!) after being sick-ish all week. *shrugs* It does suck though, b/c after not talking (or attempting to talk, I should say) for a while, what little I have of my voice goes byebye all together and I have to strain even more when I do start talking again.

So an update on Billy - Amazon tells me he's here, delivered. It has said this since yesterday morning. And yet Kellum doesn't have it, and if the Post Office does have it, they didn't put out a slip in my box at all yesterday. Trust me, I checked, several times. And it seriously pisses me off! I ordered it a week ago, paid my money for it, and I WANT IT DAMMIT! It's bullshit that I don't have it RIGHT NOW. GAH! *kicks the analness of FSU*

In other ordering news, I immediately ordered Barque of Heaven from stargatenovels.com as soon as I got the email. Those who really know me know I do this with every SG-1 novel fandemonium puts out - these books are like crack... I need them RIGHT AWAY. Even if I have a bazillion books lined up to read (like right now!), I still go and order them. I have all the SG-1 novels, and SGA: Blood Ties b/c Daniel is in it. :D And of course I'll be ordering the audio novels when they are available! SO EXCITED FOR THEM!!!!

So Monday, I should have lotsa mail - Billy, the novel, and new old Farscape from netflix. Yay!

OH, btw, Daniel II is official - the phone came back to life as only Daniel can the next morning. The inside of the screen was still damp, but it dried out by the next day, so all is good. SO GO DANIEL II!

I was gonna do my hair tonight (have to touch up the pink), but I've already taken a shower today and my hair is actually being good for once. I don't want to screw up the niceness of the hair, b/c it's so rare that it actually does what I want it to!

*phew* Okie day, I think that's about it for now. I still....AH! iTunes!psychic strikes again! I was just thinking "Hot is going to play next..." AND IT CAME ON! *dances* Now I want to watch this vid...and the other two I've made...:D

Okie day, now I'm going to work on more icons. ;)
