Gonna try a fly by post...just touching on a few things since I'm busy watching this (intense) Canucks game and pondering things...

~ No go on the major. Appeal to stay was denied for the same reason I'm being forced to change - haven't met all prereqs. (Yeah, so that appeal was pointless really). Will go on Wednesday to the Department of History and have my major switched to that. Smurf offered to try and argue the verdict some more, but I told him not to. I'm tired of dealing with it.

~ In other school news, can hopefully get my failing grades from last semester removed. Latin is a no go since that was WAY back in Spring '08, but I should be able to replace the grade (as I figured) with another foreign language credit. And I can take that class pass/fail so it doesn't screw with my GPA.

~ Locked out of my Word. Smurf never entered in the 25-character code when he put everything on Lord Danny's new brain, and we can't find the software to do it. So I'm back to working on stuff in WordPad (extremely obnoxious). Anybody have a spare use on their Microsoft Office they're willing to give me?? *innocent smile*

~ Gonna see if I can get in LoudTwitter (despite 'deleting' my account a few months ago) and make it so the posts cut themselves. It's annoying having to go in a do it all the time by hand. Of course since I've never been able to get it to use my 'twitter' designated icon, I'd still have to go back in. But it would be a much simpler thing than placing the cut in myself, and the tag in myself, as well as the icon.

~ Suspended netflix account. Can't afford it, GameCenter Live and cable. It should pick back up Jan 3rd, when I'll have more dineros again.

~ Nice little article on Michael HERE. Nothing any of us self-respecting didn't already know, but figured I'd share and maybe you can drop a comment and show the love for dear Shanks. ;)

Alrighty - can't update anymore. Canucks are going downhill AGAIN - gotta focus the good lucks!

I've started considering just having a little notebook with me at all times so when I hear good quotes for subject lines, I'll have a nice collection to go off of. LoL!

Have a cut to spare the flist space! ;) )

Alrighty - I think that's it for now. I need to go wash my dishes (exciting, huh?) and then possibly study. I kinda know I'll end up NOT studying, but I'm gonna TRY to at least! XP

P.S. - October is my LEAST favorite month on SyFail. SG-1 is showing a total of FIVE times all month - all of them in the late slot on friday nights. I'm sorry, but it's really NOT necessary to show horror movies ALL through the month of October. The last week, sure. But not for 31 fucking days! GRR!

Just a few updates on things and such:

- Haven't heard back about the whole major change/advising situation yet. Figured I wouldn't, but I was still hopeful. I'm gonna wait, see what happens this week. I have too much to do to deal with it directly right now. By friday, if I haven't heard anything, I'll go to the advising first directly and see what's up.

- Because I have completely AWESOME friends on twitter, I now have the means to pay for the first month of GameCenter. I can't watch the game going on right now b/c the transfer of funds from my paypal account into my bank account hasn't gone through yet (paypal said by Wednesday, it should be there), but I will be able to watch games once the season officially starts! *dances* And it gives me plenty of time to save up money for when it'll come out next month. Still considering getting rid of netflix, too. It's a hard decision, though.

- NCIS tomorrow night! Have been waiting anxiously to see what happens, and from the preview I've seen, I think my shippy little NCIS brabbits are going to be pleased. Honestly, even if it's just the usual UST between Tony and Ziva, I'll be happy. Going all summer without it in a new form was torture!

- I haven't forgotten about the vids from D*C that haven't been posted. Or other various things I never got posted (pics and such, con-related and otherwise) - I'll try my best to get those types of things posted asap. Probably not until Thursday, right now, at the earliest. I have too much school work to deal with, on TOP of other fandom obligations.

Alrighty, I have to go wash my dishes and then I'm hoping to finish The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. I have less than a 100 pages to go, and the book is so easy to read that I have NO EXCUSE for not finishing it tonight! I might even start Voyage of the Dawn Treader as well (yes, I know i'm skipping a few, but i need to read the ones relative to the class and PAPER - due Thursday - first).

So I figured, while I'm thinking about and am logged into Blackboard, that I'd post my schedule for the coming semester now. Because you guys know I know you all are DYING to see what classes I'm taking! XP

Monday

MAC1105-60 - College Algebra (Recitation): 3:35 - 4:25 PM

Tuesday/Thursday

MAC1105-60 - College Algebra: 11:00AM - 12:15 PM

REL3936-01 - Religion & Fantasy Lit.: 12:30 - 1:45 PM

ANT2138-01 - World's Greatest Shipwrecks: 2:00 - 3:15 PM

ARH2090-01 - Great Discoveries in Archaeology: 3:35 - 4:50 PM

AMH2020-04 - History of U.S.: 5:15 - 6:30 PM

As you can see, I pretty much have no time in between classes to do much of anything, but I can't afford to drop any classes b/c if I keep up with just 13 hours a semester, I'll never graduate in time. And I can't take sign up for any Monday/Wednesday/Friday classes right now b/c first day attendance is mandatory and I won't be able to attend that first Monday (since I'll be on my way back from Chicago). I'm actually liking the set up...will keep me focused. It also means I'll have to start bringing food with me (snacks at least) on Tuesdays/Thursdays since I won't have time to stop anywhere in between.

In other school related news, have received this email a few times from the school regarding the Anthropology department and the budget (they have apologized to all who will be receiving it multiple times, but are sending it out at certain times during the registration period):

Rationale
As a consequence of the University’s recent budget reduction, the Department of Anthropology is part of a restructuring taking place within the College of Arts and Sciences. Because the University’s budget situation has not yet stabilized, the Administration has decided to suspend access to the existing degree programs for one year.

Consequences for Undergraduate Students
We anticipate that students at the junior and senior levels will have up to two years to complete their degree requirements, independent of the specific changes that result from restructuring.  In other words, our intention is to provide the upper-level course offerings for the next two years.  Students should not assume that upper-level Anthropology courses would be available as options after two years.  Recent entries into the Anthropology major should plan accordingly.

So I'm pretty much safe at the moment...there's only like two more specifically required classes I need to take, and a few more elective credits I need in my Anthropology area. I just need to make sure I keep going with at least one Anthro. class a semester...though it would be safer to do two. But I'll work it out. As long as I can complete my degree, I'm pretty satisfied!

Alrighty, now that I have officially bored you with this school stuff, I am going to go restart my Tudors rewatch...and then possibly read more of the Burn Notice novel. XD

Last night was the first time in pretty much a year that I had sat down to watch AoT all the way through again *ducks from thrown objects* I just don't have time to watch movies like I used to, and I always have something 'NEW' to watch...but I will say I enjoyed it as much as I did the first time I watched it...I was rewinding and rewatching several scenes...

So since Thursday afternoon, it was raining pretty much nonstop until this evening... Thursday, I got caught in the Williams building (which is all the way across campus from Kellum, mind you) for two hours. I have no problems with trudging through the rain...as my Grandpa used to say, I'm not made of salt, nor sugar, nor shit...I'm not gonna melt. I just have a thing about my stuff getting wet, especially my books and notebooks...but after two hours of waiting, I decided to just get it over with. Thankfully, my stuff didn't get very wet at all. Then the rain CONTINUED yesterday - it was so bad they even announced it on the warning system across campus. I didn't make it to class, and the only time I ventured out was in a rare "dry" window to get food, and it was raining before I even got back to my dorm. And TODAY, I did NOTHING all day because it was so nasty outside and the only thing that felt "comfortable" was lounging in bed. I watched pretty much the entire first season of Top Model all day on Bravo, occasionally jumping to Disney for their 'zero to hero' marathon or ABC Family for Jumanji.

But the rain FINALLY let up around 8 this evening, and I wasn't passing up a chance to get out of this room! We went and saw 'Yes Man' at the SLC, and I was rather surprised by how good it really was. I honestly have a hard time watching Jim Carrey movies and not comparing them to Ace Ventura, but this one I really enjoyed as its own entity.

I have realized I REALLY want to get back into LOST again - I need to get caught up on it first, of course. But after catching part of an episode on Skifficans the other night (and the fact that I knew it was the S.2 opener right away is kinda scary...how could I remember something like that!?), I came tothe conclusion that it still has a huge power over me. I'm sad I fell out of it. I mean I was so HARD CORE into it the first season! Damn the movie to Louisiana - screwed with SO MANY THINGS!

Have been kinda slacking in my school work lately - so tomorrow I will be making up for it by trying to do a shit load of stuff in one day! WHOOT - Kids, this is what Procrastinaton gets you. It's why only the few and proud can call themselves Procrastination Musketeers! *HUZZAH TO MY FELLOW MUSKETEERS*

I have finally stopped trying to push up my glasses when I'm wearing my contacts...took two weeks, but I have stopped. Because you know you really feel like (and look like, I'm sure) an idiot when you go to push up something NOT there anymore! *snirk*

Alrighty, think I'm done rambling for the time being - just felt I needed to post something before tomorrow, when I'll probably be posting a lot of nothing while procrastinating some MORE from my school work! ;D

So I know I haven't really posted since I came home for Turkey Day Break, but things got pretty busy and hectic, as usual! So let's recap how my week has gone since Tuesday...

- Tuesday night was spent in a van on the way back here, of course. It was entertaining (as always) in the beginning, but after PepsiCola (Pensacola) took forever to get to (I swear, it took years), we got really tired and bored, and I went to sleep. I know Smurfinator and I bet on something, but I for the life of me can't remember WHAT the hell we bet on. I know we were discussing school and conventions, so it's somewhere in between those two topics! XP

-Wednesday, I did my laundry and watched NCIS since I missed it Tuesday night. I also ended up watching CSI:NY because my ship on that show had a significant thing happen. I was both pleased and miffed.

-Thursday was Turkey Day of course. I spent the morning doing my hair b/c it was the perfect time to do it (Madre was at work). And Smurfinator surprised both Madre and me by giving us $200 each for Christmas shopping. So we ended up at Wally World! XP Then we came back and had our Thanksgiving dinner. Got a little tipsy off some Smirnoff Ice and played Spite and Malice. In all, it was a good holiday.

-Friday we got up at 4 AM to do the Black Friday thing. Normally, we would get up when we wanted and go out later, but Madre and I had to work, so the early bird insanity stuff ended up being what we did. Madre and Smurfinator didn't get anything during the outing (well, Madre got my traditional hallmark ornament. I got Indy this year!), but I picked up a present and the necessary singing cards for [livejournal.com profile] taraleesg1 . Also got a N.A.P. pillow from Brookstone. I'd been putting off getting a new squishy since my last one disentigrated, so I felt it was time for a new one. It was $30, but definitely worth it! The thing is so comfy and squishy! XD We went to work after our shopping fun, and while we were there, Ted picked up a new flat screen for the living room. It's very nice (they're watching Hancock on it now).

-Saturday was a working day again... and it was slow, so it was boring and we were finding ways to entertain ourselves. Always fun times when that happens. After work, we went to Pizza Village. Then came back and I watched half of The Fifth Man on the new tv (my exact words when Daniel came on screen - "He's so big! Wow, and his face is big too!" XP), then we all watched Indy 4. Or  we got through most of it, then ended up turning it off and going to bed.

-Today they had originally planned to take me back, but I convinced them to do it tomorrow. So I FINALLY got a day to pick up my room and put up all my shiny from Chicago. Got a frame for my sketch, and a new clock for my room since my other one is at school. I also got a universal remote since my TV remote finally decided to kick it too me one last time and stop working (there really was a love/hate relationship between us!). This is big news b/c it not only works for my tv, but my DVD/CD player too! Since my CD player IS a DVD player, the remote can be programmed to it. Considering the DVD player remote hasn't worked since we moved her, I was quite excited! Also exciting news: I GOT WALL-E ON DVD! Ted had picked it up for me for X-mika, and then decided to give it to me tonight. Not that I'm complaining or anything... ;D

So we're heading back tomorrow - and then it's two weeks, and I'm back here for X-mika time. And sometime between now and finals (maybe during finals week) I have to get my dv exchange prompts taken care of. Maybe work on a fic or two...definitely got X-mikay things to take care of. It's gonna be getting a little busy these next few weeks, but as soon as finals are over, it'll slow down again. Then it'll be just work and home and Trey (because he's coming for X-mika! XD)
