So here's things...


~ Have started a new book (well, started it last week, but that's neither here nor there). If you couldn't tell from the subject line, it's Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. And I'm absolutely loving it! I'm not quite halfway through it yet (doing stuff for French class takes up a lot of free time). It was mostly the premise and cover that caught my attention since I've never read the original (not really a big Jane Austen fan), and I'm very satisfied by what I'm getting from it. The one downside is it makes me want to slaughter some zombies myself in L4D2, but I can't do that until Smurf gets a hold of all the stuff to upgrade Lord Danny so the game is actually...ya know...playable on him! Otherwise, the book is fantastic.


~ HOE-MG, how much do I love Gibbs and Tony?!?! Like for seriously, they are just amazing. It was that very Jack/Daniel familiarness about them that made me fall in love with the show to begin with and that's what we got in tonight's episode. *sigh* Such love for them, Tony/Ziva, and the show as a whole! Sad there's no new episode next week (but also glad that SYTYCD is over right now so I can watch the episodes when they premiere).


~ I really hope the NHL big wigs don't frell up and do what's right in the whole Burrows debacle that came out of last night's game. I'm not going to get into much detail about it here, but lets just say HOPEFULLY the bad ref calls that have been going on for some time now will be taken care of. Last night it was just beyond ridiculous. If anyone is interested on reading up on what I'm talking about, you can find three different posts about it HERE, HERE, and HERE. I'm taking the side of Burrows, of course. Biased as a Canucks fan aside, fans and those connected to the NHL all over have (for the most part) been siding the same. When even the broadcasters for the WINNING TEAM (b/c the Canucks did NOT win the game last night - mostly because of those BAD calls) say it was the worst refereed game they had seen, you know something hinky is going on. So the NHL is deciding on it now. We'll see how it goes.


Alrighty, I have a little bit of French work to get done. *sigh* Back to the school-time grind. ;P

P.S.: You know it's bad when I, with the house I live in, can't concentrate on what I'm trying to post because a roommate is being SO FUCKING LOUD! My door was already closed so I couldn't just slam my door or something like that. I had to put my headphones on and turn on music - ridiculous.

But DAYUM, do I approve of Tony's clothing choices this season! SOOOOO much better than the size too small suits that he donned ALL of last season. It's very pleasing to see him in a decent pair of jeans or slacks, with a white button down shirt. And then throw the gun holster in there?!


HOE-MG, Tony ...I think I have fallen in love with you even more because of it all.

And now onto other stuff:

- Finally signed up for GameCenter Live. Tried to test it out, but I don't think I can enjoy the 'live' part of it until the actual season starts. Hopefully that's all it is b/c I'd hate to have committed to this NOT to be able to watch the games when official season starts.

- Last night I was reminded why I decided to put my all into this hockey stuff back in April, and why I ended up going for the Canucks (yes, dear Skittles was the catalyst, but it HAS turned into a true fan love thing from me). And I wasn't even WATCHING the game. But yeah, that shit impressed me.

- I don't really have anything else for tonight. LOL!

Just a few updates on things and such:


- Haven't heard back about the whole major change/advising situation yet. Figured I wouldn't, but I was still hopeful. I'm gonna wait, see what happens this week. I have too much to do to deal with it directly right now. By friday, if I haven't heard anything, I'll go to the advising first directly and see what's up.

- Because I have completely AWESOME friends on twitter, I now have the means to pay for the first month of GameCenter. I can't watch the game going on right now b/c the transfer of funds from my paypal account into my bank account hasn't gone through yet (paypal said by Wednesday, it should be there), but I will be able to watch games once the season officially starts! *dances* And it gives me plenty of time to save up money for when it'll come out next month. Still considering getting rid of netflix, too. It's a hard decision, though.

- NCIS tomorrow night! Have been waiting anxiously to see what happens, and from the preview I've seen, I think my shippy little NCIS brabbits are going to be pleased. Honestly, even if it's just the usual UST between Tony and Ziva, I'll be happy. Going all summer without it in a new form was torture!

- I haven't forgotten about the vids from D*C that haven't been posted. Or other various things I never got posted (pics and such, con-related and otherwise) - I'll try my best to get those types of things posted asap. Probably not until Thursday, right now, at the earliest. I have too much school work to deal with, on TOP of other fandom obligations.

Alrighty, I have to go wash my dishes and then I'm hoping to finish The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. I have less than a 100 pages to go, and the book is so easy to read that I have NO EXCUSE for not finishing it tonight! I might even start Voyage of the Dawn Treader as well (yes, I know i'm skipping a few, but i need to read the ones relative to the class and PAPER - due Thursday - first).

So I'm sure everyone has already seen this over on sg1_solutions , but seeing as it pertains to NCIS aaaaand Michael (in a way), I figured I'd repost it:


Go HERE to make suggestions about who we'd like to see guest star on NCIS.


I have said numerous times (not here on LJ, but out loud and to people like taraleesg1 ) that Michael would be ABSOLUTELY perfect on NCIS!!! I've been waiting anxiously for it to miraculously happen!


And I know this doesn't mean it WILL happen, but it's cool to show that we'd like to see him there! (especially since The Eastmans didn't get picked up...would call CBS bastards, but they also run NCIS, so yeah...no bitching at this particular time!) Of course you don't HAVE to suggest JUST Michael (or even him at all), but I figured as many of us are Shanks fans AND NCIS fans, there'd be no problem in making that suggestion!

(Also, I'm sure the NCIS PTB have seen him on Burn Notice at this point in time - that HAS to carry some weight, right?!)

So there was this writer's block not too long ago that said what would you need to post about to bring new readers to your journal up to speed on things - I never did that writer's block, obviously, and am way too lazy now to hunt it down, but I realized any new reader coming into this world of insanity of mine that all the 'code' names I use could get confusing (especially with all the Daniels/Dannys I have!). So I made a list - think of it as a cipher or keycode to this journal... plus, for those of you who never caught on to the nick names, here a master list of them all! ;D


There will be some I have never used, but might come up sometime in the future...or they will be in twitter posts

There's a couple of things i need to post on...


Starting with an update on my reading, because YES, I have been keeping up with it...actually, it's very likely I will finish the book up tonight...but I wanted to post on my progress now so i have some sense of keeping a half-assed detailed account of my reading: 

 


Moving on, guess I should talk about the big 'drama' of the past couple of days. Ted was in the hospital. It wasn't anything MAJOR MAJOR, but it was something pretty...not mundane... Something had bit him in the elbow or some such thing, so his arm was really swollen and wasn't getting better for days (friday was the day it first started swelling)... Monday he went to the VA, and the doc that saw him immediately sent him to the ER. They got to him right away (which makes me think it was pretty intense, but the way everyone talked about it really played it down a lot...plus i'm trying not to dwell on how many times I've been to the hospital in the past three days *shudders*), and they kept him over night Monday night and last night.... gave him antibiotics cause his arm was infected, and today drained his elbow. He's home now, which is...well, yeah...


I am being a might bit selfish though because if he had stayed in the hospital again tonight, there was a chance I'd get to see Indy tonight at midnight. But since he came home, that's now out of the question. Which means, unless I can really kiss ass tomorrow, I'm gonna have to wait until Sunday to see it. I definitely don't approve of this at all, but I know when and when not to push buttons, and right now is a not time. 


Anywho, watch my two shows.....both of which were amazing. I won't make a cut for the Tudors...but let me just say that the stuff with Henry and Anne this episode was INTENSE!!! OMG, this show...i swear it just keeps getting better and better!!


As for NCIS - well, i'll be kind and put it behind a cut.  


Okie donkie, I think that's about it for now. Now I will go get ready for bed, and then finish off Memoirs of a Geisha!

How many Tudors fans do I have on my flist? I know of ONE sure one... I got her into the show, so I KNOW she's definitely a fan. For which I am very grateful, since I need SOMEONE to discuss characters, plot points, and theories with. ANYWHO, for anyone who is, did EP.7 make you cry?!?!?!?! I know EP.5 (both of these S.2, of course!) had me in tears, but 7 was just....POOR HENRY!!! Just the way he took it...it was SOOOOO SAD. And ANNE - OMG! I feel so bad for her too! She's going mental, and there doesn't seem to be anyone to help her!


Onto other shows....OMFG, NCIS! ( For those avoiding speculations and spoilers... )


Irked b/c Indy tickets for my area aren't available yet! Is it just b/c I live in a bass-ackwards state that is always behind in everything, or do no theaters have tickets available?? I'm really hoping there will be a midnight showing for it!! I'm so damn excited for this movie!!!! It'll be my first Indy in theaters!!! *dances i anticipation*


During the whole money crisis during the last few weeks of school, my Chicago Con Fund (that being the saved up change portion) took a big hit. After recalculating the amount today, it's at $33.67 ... and that's AFTER adding in all the change I've picked up since coming home. As depressing as that number is compared to the last time I did the figuring on it, I'm glad i still have change LEFT to make a decent 'fund' from. And it's still a promising amount considering I have until August 22nd to put stuffs into it!


I swear, when at the con, I'm gonna tell Ben that my cats just don't seem to like him...They pulled the head off my Mitchell doll, and out of all the possible faces to scratch on the Men of SG-1 poster from the mag several issues back, they're destroying the Mitchell one. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that one of my cats is named Sikozu?? IDK - but i find it amusing...not in the sense that my SG-1 stuffs is being DESTROYED by the little heathens, but just - it's ONLY the Cam stuff!


Anywho, i think that's about it for now. I know there was something else I WANTED to mention, but right now it escapes me...
