Like Shooting Stars

JUST ordered my tickets for Chicago...they FINALLY got them up for sale (only took 3 damn months). taraleesg1 noticed earlier that the ChiCon page had FINALLY been updated (with info for next year's con) and that the links were leading to the right place (even if the tickets weren't on sale yet). So we had a feeling it would be happening today sometime...

...I had JUST enough time to make it to the ATM, see if I had enough in the specific account, and get back before they went on sale.


NOW I have purchases the tickets. CHICAGO CON 2010 IS OFFICIALLY ON! XD


Oh, and I love the new 'select your seat' setup they have. Was able to see what was available...and was able to get the same seats from this past year (since I didn't have the dineros at the time to reup them). Not exactly the same...we are one seat closer to the stage, so not a bad thing at all!


*dances* I'm so happy and relieved right now!!

P.S. - OH, and we knew Michael was the first confirmed guest, but found out today that David Hewlett will also be there! ;)

~ As fast as the days seem to be going by, it seems like this semester will never end! I want to go HOME! I do love being at school and really this semester, at least classes wise and living wise, isn't horrible. I just miss my mommy and my kitties and just being HOME. Get it - I want to be HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!


~ I do not approve of the judges choice for this week's cut guy on SYTYCD. I mean, there was a style there that...*sigh* And he KILLED in that solo. Way more than the guy they kept! Totally baffled and angered (And I am aware of their names - I'm just trying to keep it as spoiler free as possible b/c I don't feel like using a cut! XP ).


~ Canucks are proving their own, even with all their injured players! Last night's game was a hoot to watch. The fighting was epic, the WINNING was fantastic, Raycroft and Kesler were on fire, AND CANUCKS ENDED UP TRENDING ON THE TWITTERWEBZ! Last night, it was so fulfilling to be a 'Nucks fan! XD And in related news, I SO hope Kesler makes it on Team U.S.A for the Olympics! That would rock awesomepops and I'd have something to look forward to watching when the Olympics come up in February!


~ I am so amazed and shocked at how many people in my History class AGREE that the internment of Japanese Americans during WWII was the RIGHT course of action! And how many also agree that the use of the atomic bomb on Nagasaki and Hiroshima was the right course of action. Maybe it's just the Daniel Jackson in me (*points* hehe, my mind went to the DIRTY place there), but I think both were WRONG. O.o


~ I kinda sorta really wish it was time for ChiCon/ D*C again...but I AM excited to see what comes out of LA Con this coming weekend. *nods*


~ Was fucked over by the bank again. THANK YOU  horrible banking system of FAIL. THANK YOU!


~ Thinking it's time for a new Pony. Haven't gotten a new one since the summer...I feel the urge to get another one. The current lot is staring at me like 'Come on, we need a new addition to your plastic pony minions!' Maybe I can persuade Madre to get me another when I go HOME (yes, that place again) in THREE WEEKS. I've always been successful before...I'm sure I can swing it again! XD


Yep, think that's it for now. My tummy is talking to me - time to make some eats. :)

It may be taking me a while, but I'm slowly getting these vids out to you. This batch is from the Sunday Stargate Supergate Panel with everyone (except Gary and Colin).


Again, same apologies apply - except in place for all my screaming, you get the cough of doom that plagued me all frelling weekend (and robbed me of my voice, which is why I couldn't scream - though I tried a handful of times). Also, apologize for missing some of the antics the guests were up to...it was hard to catch them all on the camera at once and I was watching them rather than the camera. LOL!

As promised, more vids are forthcoming. These are from the Men of SG-1 panel from the con -  Ben, Gary, and Colin took part in this one. And I'll say it was frelling funny as fuck (was gonna say hell, but couldn't resist the alliteration) to begin with, but that SPIT-TAKE just put it over the top and made it rockin' awesomepops! XD


The same warnings from before apply - Apologies for the screaming and the shaky camera stuff. Also, this was in the Atrium room like the Paul panel, so once again the lighting was horrible for the camera stuff. I haven't watched much of any of this set (though I do know i got that spit-take on camera!), so if there's anything else I should be warning for, i don't know it! *snirk*

So, finally decided to forgo watching these before hand and just started uploading them to the youtubez. I just don't have enough time right now to sit and watch each individual one, and I won't make you guys wait any longer.


Notes for this set of vids:

~ At this point, my cheering ability is still pretty strong so I once again apologize for my screaming into the camera.
~ Of course, also at this point, the cough of doom was taking a strong hold so apologies for that.
~ Still holding the camera up all on my own throughout the entire panel, so sorry for the shakiness and/or horrible angles at times (I try to watch the actual panel myself rather than through the camera, so sometimes I don't realize right away that I'm not holding it right! XP)
~ Try and ignore the ass who kept holding up the camera in the air (while he was in the FRONT fucking row - not necessary! *angry eyes*)

( Some Farscape Panel Fun )


The plan is to get the remaining vids I have up throughout the weekend, so keep an eye out for those. Idk if I'll be loading the SG-1 Supergate Panel next, or the other Farscape one. If anyone has any preference, just drop a comment here about which you'd like to see first. Oh, and I also have some vids of the SGMT Charity Auction that Paul emcee'd. As promised, I come with vids from the first SG panel from Dragon*Con. It was originally supposed to be Paul and Joe on the panel, but Joe missed his plane so it ended up being just the Paul McGillion show. It was still a fun hour and it's provided here for y'alls enjoyment.

Some notes before hand:

~ The lighting was horribly bright on stage and my poor little camera couldn't compensate. So I apologize for the quality of that.
~ I have a tendency to cheer (or scream depending on how you wanna put it) loudly, so I'm sorry for screaming quite literally into the camera.
~ I was holding the camera up myself throughout the entire panel (my arms got rather tired, but I refused to stop), so that is why certain parts are shaky and/or completely out of control.

The first vid is so short b/c I'm a dumbass and accidentally hit the record button after it was already recording (thus stopping the recording - brilliant!). And the last vid is extra extra short b/c it was the end of his panel - but I wanted to get everything, including his goodbye.

Otherwise, hope you guys enjoy - videoed it all for you who couldn't attend! ;)

Okay, technically, I'm not really HOME (as much as I wish I was - I miss my mommy and my kittehs. I wanna see how big Prince William has gotten), but that is neither here nor there really. I'm BACK from Dragon*Con. Completely exhausted, though most of this is from the bus ride/waiting for buses back here. I did attempt to sleep for a few hours, but it seems the obnoxious cough of doom still wants to cling for a little while longer.


Anywho, I do have plenty to share with everyone. I'm going to go through all of the videos (there are 38, if I'm remembering correctly? I counted yesterday while sitting in the Atlanta greyhound station, so there's a possibility the ACTUAL number is lost in my exhausted fron somewhere) so I can add any proper notes to them beforehand. This will take a while since Quicktime wants to freeze and skip through the whole video the first play through. But here's what I got on video (and this includes ALL of every panel listed, save for when I had to hit record again since my dear little camera only records 10 mins at a time):

- Paul McGillion Panel (formerly the Joe and Paul panel, but Joe had missed his flight so it became the Paul show. I wasn't complaining. ;) )
- SG-1 Panel (with Gary, Colin, and Ben). Yes, I DID get that spit take of awesomepops on video. XD
- Farscape Panel (with Lani, Ben, Claudia, and Virginia)
- Stargate Supergate Panel (with Joe, Rachel, Claudia, Ben, Paul, and Jason)
- Farscape Panel (with Lani, Ben, and Claudia - Virginia had to catch her flight, so she couldn't be there as originally scheduled). Twas front row, center for this one! ;)

I also got part of the Charity Auction where Paul was the Emcee on video, but it was RIGHT after the Supergate Panel, so by that point my memory card was very full. Because of this, I unfortunately was not able to get any of Gary and Colin's panel that took place in the track room. And because of the two Farscape panels, I missed out on the Stargate Panels which were going on either right before or during said Farscape ones (for those who are unaware, it is quite impossible to go to BOTH panels that are back to back if you want prime seating UNLESS you have someone already in line for the second one). I know at least one of them is up for viewing.

But yeah, I have more to share, but I won't be breaking down my experience for you guys tonight. I'm crazy tired still, and just want to chillax in bed and watch some Family Guy (which I can appreciate SO much more now! XD).

Oh, and as was stated before, twas great to see a couple of you guys in person - I know I spent some time (if brief) with callygal1 , and hung out a little bit with cleothemuse . If others of you were there and we saw each other/met (I know there's a couple, right?), twas cool to see you guys too. 

Alrighty, I'm off to relax and try not to let this evil, looming black suitcase get the better of me and convince me to unpack it.

What, I managed to injure myself in some way again?? Yes, that IS correct! While getting ready to get into the shower today, managed to slam my face into the tiled corner of the shower wall while reaching for my stuff on the tub. Hurt like fucking hell at the time, and now the left side of my face is pretty damn sore. It's mostly just around my eye area, but can feel it in other places when I move a certain way or squint b/c of the light.

And yet, I'm not surprised at all that I did this. Because this is me and I do these sort of things.


In less painful news (or maybe more depending on your perspective?? *snirk*), I picked up a copy of the rerelease of COtG today. LIke I had hoped (and mentioned a little while back), it was available at Wally World (my faith in them, even the dinky one here, has been growing since they had Mega Snake AND Swarmed at the same time! ;P ). I had planned on watching it today, but between helping Smurfinator with 'work' and ramming my face into a wall, it just didn't happen. Hoping for a watch on Thursday - if not, definitely on Saturday when I'm in the box.


Evil twitter friends are trying to convince me to go to Vancouver for the Creation con...they are evil, yes?? That's what I thought!


There were a few other things I wanted to say, but I totally forgot what they all were all at once. Blaming the head injury for this memory loss. Taking it as a sign to end this entry here!

How cool is that?? I mean...clearly Victor was a rather loved character for being such an evil (well, MISUNDERSTOOD) and twisted villain! Oh, how I'd love to be there to see that panel. Really...that would be such awesomepops! Of course I am going to Chicago and Dragon*Con, so I think I should feel pretty lucky with what I'm getting already. BUT SERIOUSLY...if anyone's going to this, please, please, please provide video/pic prettehs!! (I'm sure there will be many about, but it would be cool if one of you guys happened to be attending Comic Con!)
