Like Shooting Stars

I was gonna do a nice decent post, but after discussing my latest DV fic for my AU table with dvshipper, I'm now inspired to get a little bit of a head start on that (don't worry - i am still working on the 'She's Everything' fic!). So this post will just highlight a few important things! XD



First, I bought Heidi Newfield's first solo cd, 'What Am I Waiting For', today (for those non-country people, or those who don't know, she was the female vocalist for Trick Pony, and has such an amazing voice!). I'm totally in LOVE with her song 'Johnny and June', and saw in People Magazine that she got a GREAT review on the entire CD. I've listened to the whole thing once tonight, and I can say I will be falling in love with it very quickly! Also, it was only $10 at Wally World, so it wasn't that big of a splurge.


Also just renewed my paid account here since it was about to expire on Friday...and I just couldn't lose all my shiny icons and have those dam ads back on my page. I just can't stand all that crap! So it's been taken care of, and I've also bought more text notifications since I've been without any since last week and I found it wasn't fun to not know who was posting comments on my journal!


There's this weird mark on my leg - i'm not really sure what it is. It just appeared out of no where a few days ago. It kinda looks like a burn, and it's almost like a perfect circular shape like I accidently pressed my leg up against a pipe or something. But I don't remember doing anything like that! It didn't hurt at first - still doesn't hurt, but now it's itching! I know that probably means it healing (so it's most likely a burn, i guess), but it just irks me to have these 'injuries' and not knowing where they came from!


I'm going with Kylie to get my haircut  on Saturday - I've been wanting to do it for a while now, but just couldn't get Madre or Smurfinator to take me! I was hoping to get it done before the con since i have horribly dead ends that are at least a few inches long and I just want my sideswept bangs look back. What's ironic is I've been feeling crappy about my hair lately, and someone told me they liked it today. Said it was unique! XD


Still haven't got the tickets for Chicago. I'm hoping they'll be in the mail tomorrow b/c I'm starting to get a little paranoid. I'm leaving for school in less than a week and i NEED to have those tickets! It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't getting all of our tickets because now there's others relying on me and I'll feel so frelling horrible if I DON'T have them in time! (I'm kinda hoping that ranting about it here tonight will cosmically put them in my mailbox tomorrow and just show I was over reacting! I'd rather over react than be right in my paranoia, ya know?!)


I have more money to add to the fund - I'm gonna do that after this post...


Tomorrow, I will be ranting on what the DOG did on Sunday when I took him out to play. I have video/pics of it, and I'm sure it will show just how much of an ASS this dog really is. I really don't like him anymore...


OH, and just another friendly reminder that if anyone is looking for a good, fun, unique forum to hang out on, The Beta Site is always looking for enthusiastic members!  Okie donkie, I am here on an urgent mission!! A beloved forum of mine that I sadly haven't frequented in many moons is desolate and near death and needs a resurrection.... I went there on a whim today, and was shocked and saddened by the lack of activity over there! I mean, this place used to be my haven and it's barely hanging to life these days! 


Of course, there are several of you on my flist that know the forum of which I speak. That's right my fellow used to be regulars - I'm on a mission of mercy to revive...


THE BETA SITE


a lot of you on my flist I met over there on Beta, and didn't we just used to have some fun over there?? It would be so cool if we could at least breath SOME life back into the place, and even get some fresh faces! Now I understand if you, the used to be regulars, are too busy with RL (remember the days of shunning RL and procrastinating on BETA?! *sigh* good times, good times) to make it a once again regular thing to post there, but it would be so nice to see some familiar people! I really don't want Beta to die, especially when WE all used to give so much life to the place!


And to everyone who's not a member of the forum and would like to find another fun place to chat with Stargate fans (it's not all just about Stargate over there, either... actually, a lot of the times, we manage to ramble away from the very thing that brought us together!), then come on over and register. Like I said, it would be cool to see new faces there... and maybe a newbie's enthusiasm will help in the mission to give Beta life once more!


Of course, there is a little bit of a process of registering. We have a problem with spammers on the forum, and for that reason registration is closed. But that doesn't mean you can't become a member. All you have to do is register a username and an email, and then email taraleesg1 at thebetasitereg@gmail.com with the username you chose AND the email address you signed up with (do NOT worry - she will delete the email you send her after she's confirmed that you are a person who legitimately wants to post on the site and not just a spammer), and she will confirm your request and you're a member! I know it sounds like a lot of work, but trust me, it's worth it. Beta (when there's people postin, of course!) is a fast pace, witty forum for all fans of SG-1/SGA! And this whole process of registration keeps spammers out and makes for a nicer posting experience!


So please - used to be regulars and hopefuls alike - HELP ME OUT HERE! Beta is a forum all to itself and I can't just let it slip away into the nothingness of the internet! 


To all the regulars, both myself and Tara are posting/have posted on there within the past hour, and I still have the window with it open, so I'm there and you will have someone to talk to (at least right now - I can't stay up forever!)...


And to anyone who does venture over there and registers, I'm Spacemonkey on the site!!
