Since I've decided to be a really bad student at the moment and postpone doing my reading journal for the time being, I decided to post.
~ Went to the mall as planned. Picked up First Knight as planned - it was only $10, which is a good thing. Best Buy also had a handful of movies on sale for $5, so I got G.I. Jane and Once Upon a Time in Mexico (Viggo and Johnny! MMMMM). Then headed over to the mall itself to check out Hot Topic and get some food. I went to HT with the intention of getting a Joker shirt I'd seen a few weeks ago, but then of course had to look at all the Twilight stuffs (they got a bunch more in). I was tempted to get a Jasper shirt - even picked it up. But then decided to go a little more vintage and get the 'I Heart Yoshi' shirt I'd been eyeing for a few months. Because I'm sorry, but Yoshi beats out Jasper anyday. *shrugs* I did get the Joker shirt I wanted (and thank god I went with that in mind b/c they only had one small left). I also got a new belt since my Star Wars one is on it's last legs. It's plain white, which is perfect for me - I like to personalize my own things and such. Problem is I got the belt in a size too small for me. Yes, I know, shocker. I know I'm unbelievably skinny, but my shape is very much hour glass like, so my hips are more pronounced. So smaller sizes won't work for me here. It's all good though - I'm gonna head back in a few weeks to hit up Hallmark for singing Valentime's cards (it's a rule), so I'll just exchange it then.
~ Glad First Knight was so cheap. I was watching it about half an hour ago (was already an hour into it) and had to turn it off. I have seen it before and had liked it then, but maybe it's just being 'forced' to watch it when I really don't want to that's making it no fun. I kept noticing all the downsides rather than the good stuff (except Sean Connery - nothing bad can mask his awesomeness!) - so I turned it off. Tomorrow, after my ANT4930 class, I'll probably do the reading journal by just winging it. That way I get the grade but don't give myself
~ In GOOD movie news, a movie I recommend everybody see - Humboldt County. OMG! It was playing last week at the SLC, and we went and saw it. Wow...just wow. Brad Dourif blew me away... only at the very beginning did I go 'IT'S WORMTONGUE!' The movie as a whole though... yeah, I even cried. As Gus put it, "It's a movie with substance about substances". I think that covers it perfectly. You can watch the trailer HERE, if you're interested.
~Michael and Claudia doing a comedy together would be...outstanding! I know they've been talking about it for a while, but to see more about it after so long is pleasing.
~ SEE, it's reasons like THIS that I LOVE Billy Boyd!:
I swear, if this man put out an actual album I would buy that shit! If I wasn't listening to the Titanic OST right now, I'd put on The Steward of Gondor to hear Pippin's song. *sigh*
That's it for now in regards to this kinda stuff - I'll be updating my DVD list and hopefully putting up pictures from the field trip yesterday and The Audobon Zoo trip last month.

Date: 2009-01-27 08:19 am (UTC)One sad memory though was that one of the lighting technicians was killed during filming of the night scenes on the water....the scaffolding tower he was on collapsed under him....the set was closed for the day our local news covered it but I don't think it got into the main news....
