Like Shooting Stars

Let me just say there is nothing quite giggly mood inducing like con reports and pictures. Thanks to MSOL (they've updated for the day, for everyone who doesn't check the page a bazillion times a day like I do!), I have been able to look at lots of fun pics and reports from the Continuum panel. XD And yes, it HAS put me in a GREAT, giggly mood! (Not that I wasn't in a good mood before - it's just better now!)


I think it may have something to do with CONTINUUM being available TOMORROW on iTunes (how early do you think it'll be up?? Midnight tonight, or some time tomorrow morning?? *snirk* Can we tell I'm in my 'one can only hope' mentality?!), or that Chicago is getting closer and closer every day (yes, the actual city is literally shifting closer and closer to south Louisiana!) Only...*looks at SG-1 calender next to the desk* 26 DAYS - DAMN, that REALLY isn't a lot. WOW....that just really hit it home. OMFG.....*DANCES*


 I have gotten a few things done today.... it's nothing like earth shattering or anything, but sometimes it's the little things getting done that makes the day feel like an accomplishment, right?


Went to Wally World to pick up a few supplies (most importantly for that FRIEND of mine... we would've run completely out today if we hadn't gone to the store to get some). While we were there, I looked to see if they'd gotten Robot Chicken in. Of course they didn't! The only way I'm gonna get it is if I order it online or pick it up at Best Buy. So that'll definitely be waiting until I get back to school and get my money. Surprisingly, it's A LOT easier to get to Best Buy there than it is here. Also while in Wally World, saw one of my all time favorite teachers, Mr. Lear. He was my Law teacher Junior year and my History teacher Senior year. He's also a fellow SG-1 fan, AND I'm one of his favorite students. So that was a delight.


Had to clean up the floor up here because the BAD cats have taken to using it to their liking (meaning PEEing on it - it's why i have to keep my bathroom rugs hung up!). They also are disgusting fuckers and dig in my trash, taking out my used tampons and the soiled toilet paper it's wrapped in and pulling them out. I know which cats do it too - it's Marishka and Nanny, the CONSTANT trouble makers. Plus, the dog isn't innocent in this either. He ate ANOTHER pair of my underwear (one of my oldest and FAVORITE pair of boy shorts. FUCKER!) today, AND stole a used pad from the trash and ate it. I swear, if we got rid of these three, our house would be a much cleaner and peaceful place.


Then picked up the room, which wasn't as bad as it usually is. Of course, that's when I found someone had PEED on my ipod dock! GAH! It had to be the dog from the way it seemed it had been pissed on from ABOVE (it's on the floor since that's the only way i can use it while still having it plugged in and being able to reach it). I swear, i'm about ready to go out back and shoot him. He is WAY more trouble than he's worth! Anywho, back to the cleaning. I had decided to NOT vaacum at first (even though it desperately needed it!) because Sikozu was in here sleeping, and i didn't want to disturb her...


So after that, decided to fix one of the posters she managed to frell up the other night. It was the Ba'al poster i put up last week or whatsuch. The other night, just as I had turned off the light and settled down to sleep, she jumped up onto the windowsill and ripped a section of it clean off. I was pissed at the time, of course, and kicked her off the windowsill. But it was a rather clean cut, and easily fixable with tape. And how handy that I just bought a new roll of packing tape a few weeks ago (for those who don't realize - packing tape is PERFECT for self laminating if you don't have access to a machine or what you want to laminate is too big, like the SG posters from the mags. Just need a steady hand and a decent, unbubbled roll of packing tape!) I took pics of it, before and after:



Of course while I was doing it, the static from pulling the tape from the roll was attracting the cat hair from the floor. That's when I decided I NEEDED to vaacum before finishing it. So I did. And of course, Sikozu wasn't bothered by it at all! *headdesk* She just watched me from the windowsill the whole time! So all those times before today that I put of vaacuming because she was in here, sleeing on the windowsill, were for nothing!


Added to the Chicago Con Fund. It's now at $278.53. I'm pleased with this. I haven't spent ANY of it since coming home from school. XD And i still have 26 days to add more. That's a very nice number! 


I only have the season 1 finale to watch of Burn Notice (and I've watched the S.2 episodes the night they've aired, so I don't have to worry about that!). The show really is awesome, and it's definitely inspired some brabbit action. I've got a lot of spaces to fill with the AU table on mission_insane! Don't you think Daniel and Vala as spies would be a fun fic?! Also, Fiona is one badass chick! She is now one of my most favorite female characters in fandom (Gabrielle Anwar is just GOOD at playing tough chicks! I mean, Margaret on the Tudors was an AMAZING character. Her and Brandon= SQUEE!), and that is why I now have an icon of her on my journal. I actually made it because I found the selection on the BN icon comm was lacking in an EXCELLENT Phi icon!


But yeah, the more Burn Notice I watch, the more excited i get for MS's character! 


With only so many days to go until I head back to school and go to Chicago, I've realized I've got lots of lists to write (it came to me, mi amor, that not only do i need lists for the trip, but for the move back to school too! *headdesk*). And I've got to finish up the shirts for the Musketeers and make a few corrections on the Michael sketch (i've barely looked at it since last fixing it, so hopefully I won't be hatin' it as much as i was back when!). Time really is winding down to the big trip (though it still feels like FOREVER away!)


Thanks to dvshipper, I've lost the game! ;D (we WILL b spreading it on the trip - TRUST ME!)


I believe that's all i've got right now (at least personal post wise) - i've got an interesting little 'meme' (cause it seems i've been 'making' a lot of those lately??) in my fron i need to work out. Oh, and i REALLY have to pee right now, so this is it for now! *snirk*

P.S. - Madre just texted me and told me that the Smurfinator just told her that Shredder died. For those who don't know, Shredder was Trey's dog. She could be a bitchy dog at times, but she really really was a cool dog! *sniff* Poor Trey!

So i realized i said I'd post about all that junk over the weekend.... obviously, that all didn't get talked about. But now I'm planning on talking about some stuff because I'm in a mood to post. Yay!!!


I guess we'll start with the Chicago Con stuff since that's probably what's on a lot of people's minds (at least...the peeps that are going! *SNIRK*)...

On... Thursday night, I went to the website for the con with the intention of getting just the Ben Photo Op. It was the one thing that i needed to get that i REALLY REALLY WANTED (I mean, I WANTED Michael and Lexa's individual photo ops too, but they weren't priority like Ben's. I mean, I've had my pic taken with Michael already, and plus I ALREADY have the Michael/Lexa Photo Op ticket for Chicago.), so I figured I'd do it then and not have to worry about it any longer (I had been meaning to do it since the Sunday before and kept forgetting). Clicked the nice littler order tickets link and went to pay for the sucker. Well, of course they have the Michael Photo Op ticket right NEXT to Ben's. And I knew I had the money.... so i said WTH, and went for it too. I made it all the way to the info page where you fill out billing address and whatsuch. I still had enough money, AND had seen the Lexa ticket JUST under Michael's. And, well - I went all out! Got all three of them Thursday night!


Now this left me with only $13 something in my account, but i figure it's worth it. I mean, I HAD the money, I didn't go overdrawn, and now everything I WANTED that i still needed to get is out of the way. I've already figured the next few weeks of expenses (netflix, fsu cable bill - which isn't still being billed to me, it's just spill over from unpaid months when i WAS still in school - cell phone bill), and have decided to stop buying lunch at the store and just bringing some with me. I'm also taking into account 'Continuum' next week, so don't worry about that. taraleesg1is already on top of making sure I don't spend unnecessarily, and I'm also staying on top of it myself. Plus, the Chicago Con fund has $236.91 in it now - and i'm planning on adding to it when i can. So I WILL have money for the Con - i'm just gonna have to wing it from now until then.


I also got all the paperwork printed and stored in a specific folder for the con. Itineraries, Confirmation Emails, Order Invoices. I ended up being emailed the Photo Op tickets I ordered on Thursday on the following Friday. I was so excited! But now I'm worrying about the other two tickets I have yet to get, when i know taraleesg1got them for sure. I'm thinking it's b/c I ordered them back in February and March. I'm HOPING it's because of that and I'll be getting them the normal way and not in PDF format. If not, like I said I printed the confirmation and invoice emails i received for both of them. I've also got my bank statements that say the money was taken it out. If I don't have them by the con, i'm gonna make sure they replace them when I'm there. I paid for the tickets - I WANT them.


Also, taraleesg1and I discussed our luggage arrangements (i still have a bag of hers from NJ con) and decided BIG suitcases were the way to go for this one. My original plan was to get my own luggage set, but those are way too expensive for me. But, thankfully, The Smurfinator has an UBER-SUITCASE of the type we were discussing, and I asked him if I could use it. And he said yes!

SW ROBOT CHICKEN ON DVD TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's about frelling time, ya know?! I've been waiting for this to come out since I watched it premiere on Adult Swim last year!!! I've decided I'm gonna convince Madre to go to Wally World tomorrow to see if they have it. If they do, I'm gonna use the $20 some idiot left behind at the gas shack yesterday that became my 'tip' to buy it. (The money things - it's not the first time he's done it. He'll insert his credit card into the pump, it'll approve it and let him pump gas. And yet he STILL comes to the window and gives me cash. BOTH times he's done this, I've tried to get his attention but he just goes on his merry way... and I save it to see if he'll come back for it. But he doesn't, and if I don't keep it, the store just takes it. So of course I end up with it - Hebert's gets enough of my dineros as it is!) If they DON'T have it, I'll wait until I'm back in school and have my fin aid money and buy it then. I really don't want to USE the $20 - I want to put it in the fund like I did the last one, but i've been WAITING for SW Robot Chicken for SOOO LONG! So it's a worthy sacrifice. (assuming Wally World has it, of course - and that I can convince Madre to take me.)



In other news, we have yet ANOTHER addition to our cat monarchy. Last Thursday, when all of us were getting to leave, Madre asked me to let the dog back inside from going potty. Well, I was standing on the stairs (for those who don't know, my house is 12 feet off the ground, so we have stairs just to go UP to the house), looking out at the yard and didn't see him (we have a big yard and a few little buildings on it, so it's easy to lose the dog). Then he appeared from behind the shed and was running around. And it looked like he was THROWING someting in the air, picking it back up, and tossing it again. I was like 'what has he got?!', thinking it was Marie. So I put my purse and shit down and started after him. Of course I couldn't see him once I was in the yard, but Madre told me he hadn't moved. I get over to where the fucker is, and I find a KITTEN. Not one of Sheila's or River's or Sweetness' (meaning none of the litters that have been around the house since I came home) - i have NO CLUE where this little cat came from. But OF COURSE the poor thing was in SHOCK and was all slimy and dirty. Harley wouldn't come near me when I walked out there, like he KNEW he'd been doing something wrong (smart dog - I still chased him down afterwards and punished him). 


We're not sure how old the little kitten is, but he can't be more than a month old - if that. His eyes are already open (though one of them is messed up from the dog), but he's still nursing. We bought kitten formula and a nursing bottle at Wally World and have been hand feeding him. After getting over the initial shock, and getting cleaned up, he perked up A LOT. And he's very open to people, which is weird considering Harley found him out in the yard. Madre has named him Riley (and no, she wasn't inspired from National Treasure. The name just came to her), and he's an active little puss. Never stops going unless he's SLEEPING. LoL. But he is so cute and earned himself a place inside among the other lucky little shits *shoots a look to Sikozu in my lap*. I was gonna take a pic of him tonight, but since he's ALWAYS GOING, I couldn't get a clear shot. I did video him though. Of course, I have lost my camera between then and now (and it was just a few hours ago!) But I'm off tomorrow, so I'll find the damn thing and post the vid.


Sadly, though, we didn't just GAIN a new addition. We lost one the three remaining kittens from Sheila's latest litter (for those who don't know - Sheila is now the cat that has been here the longest, and all the other cats here wouldn't be here if it wasn't for her. She literally IS the grand matriarch of the bunch. And people think I'm kidding when I say we could have a reality show on Animal Planet about our cats!). Madre had named her Angel... Back when we first brough this litter outside, Angel fell off the porch. She was okay, but didn't seem right after the fall. She got weaker and weaker each week (and she used to be such a rambuncious little kitteh - I even have video of her playfighting with Marie (who is her sister)), and we all knew she wasn't gonna be with us long. Well, Harley, the loving fucking dog that he is, decided to 'play' with her last Wednesday. We'd told him NO over and over and over again NOT to mess with the kittens. But did he listen? NO - he beat her around and tossed her all around, and she obviously went into shock (he'd done the same thing with Jake, our midget cat, back in January. All of Jake's fur was GONE from his head...), and was just too frail to recover. 


I sat with her until she was gone - and let me tell you, that is the HARDEST thing to do with a pet. Watching them go right before your eyes and knowing you CAN'T do a thing about it. It's not the first time I've done it, and i KNOW it's not gonna be the last. But it never gets any easier....


*sigh* And on that sad note... Now that I've flooded all y'all's flists with rambling, I'm gonna finish this here.
