So ended up downloading Mega Snake off iTunes - yes, I know I'm horrible! I couldn't help myself... I love the idea that I could be on a road trip and watching Mega Snake! XP


There were other things I think I wanted to post about, but I have suddenly forgotten them all! It's this damn headache that's been annoying me for the past couple of hours. All I wanna do is go to bed...but I won't.

For some reason, my iPod keeps bringing 'Whiskey Lullaby' up on shuffle - I swear I've heard it three times today!

Just a few things...

~ FINALLY got caught up on Burn Notice. The show really is love - and I was happy to see that Victor kept 'appearing' through the episodes without actually being in it. And of course I was laughing... such funny stuff. Of course even waiting three days for the next new episode is as bad as waiting three months - it feels like it's gonna take forever!

~ There's a social on my floor tonight in about an hour. Idk if I should go - the girls on my hall don't seem to like me much. *ponders*

~ Shoulder is pretty much better - still a twinge, but nothing too painful. Certain movements, however, are still a hassle.

~ I've got 'She's Everything' sitting open, so that means I should be working on it soon. I only have two parts left to go, so maybe (big maybe, though) I'll get it finished in the next few weeks.

Yeah, that's all I've got for now.

Okie donkie, I realized I needed to post about this before I ended up forgetting... because wow, it's another moment of BRILLIANCE on the part of the Kellum RAs (not all of them are bad, of course, but there are some that are like WOW...)


Monday night, while I was futzing around on neopets (it's the best place to play games, if you ask me! Nothing can top Meerca Chase!), the fire alarm went off. It was the fifth time the alarm has gone off in the past month - of course this is always a nuisance, especially if you live on the 10th frelling floor *and i chose this floor again, why??*. So I had a nice loud curse and flocked downstairs like everyone else. The general assumption was some dumbass guy was trying to cook again, and didn't have one clue as to what he was doing (this has been the case all the times before - one of the times being MY friends on MY floor trying to make hashbrowns).


While we were all standing outside (and it wasn't exactly warm), I overheard a girl saying she'd seen water coming from under her RAs door as she'd been coming outside. Then not long after I heard her say that, the police officer that had come when the alarm went off called everybody from floors 5 and 6 to the front. Okie donkie - obviously this alarm wasn't some idiot trying to make food.


So on my way up the stairs back to the 10th floor (it's faster than getting on the elevator and stopping at EVERY floor), I decided I'd stop and see what happened on 6. I mean, it WAS on my way and everything. Everything that had happened was on the low side (to the right of the elevators)...


Turns out the RA for that side wasn't here, and had stupidly left her A/C on, turned all the way up to the highest setting. Well, Monday morning, Kellum being the AWESOME dorm that it is, turned the heat back on (see, when they turn the heat on, there is no cold air that comes out of the unit. Likewise when they have the cold on - it's either one or the other, which is why I keep my air off most of the time) even though it really wasn't THAT cold Monday. Anywho, since that RA's unit was on the highest setting, it ended up over heating and melting the sprinkler system in her room - which set the alarm off. And seeing as there is a convenient space beneath the room doors, the water flooded out of the room and into the hall and the other rooms on that end:



Sorry I don't have a better picture. I took this on my phone, and just as the camera went off, these people stepped in my way. And then the RAs came and said if we didn't live on the floor, we had to go. So this was the one and only picture I got - at least you can see the water completely covering the hall floor there.


What you can't see is there is a room right behind the guy in the black shirt - and these girls had a whole bunch of shit on their floor...which of course got wet.


All I can say is for once, it's not the 10th floor with problems, and that Kellum is the BEST DORM EVAR! *snirk*


P.S - What is up with this Post and Entry page?! Is anyone else having it look all wonko on you?? Nevermind, it's back to normal again... at least the edit page is. Nevermind again - the actual Post an Entry page is STILL wonko...

So it's taken me over a week, but I've FINALLY gotten my collection of icons organized (except for the Daniel/Vala ones, which are in their own seperate folder entirely!) and uploaded on their own special photobucket account!! It really needed to be done since I've pirated taraleesg1's idea of using an icon with each post. Plus it's a good place to store them just in case.

Having said that, a lot of the icons I've had sitting on my computer for a millenia and being the smart one that I am never noted who made them. So a lot of them are uncredited (any that I've saved recently I've put the makers user name with it, so those will be credited). So if you see me using your icon, and it's not credited, it's not intentional. Just comment and let me know you made it, and i will gladly credit you!


Some other interesting things going on....

joined 555episodes the other day. I figured since I'm renetflixing Farscape, and am now netflixing Andromeda, I'd be able to do it. Plus, everyone who knows me knows that I watched oodles of SG-1. Oh, and having Heroes on DVD now means I've got lotsa episodes to watch!


I've realized I've gotta lotsa 'trips' already in the works for this year. Next weekend is the Chili Cookoff (I have to talk to Merry and make sure we're still going to that!). Over Spring Break, me and my group of friends here are planning on going to Busch Gardens, and then of course in August is CHICAGO CON! *dances*


Speaking of Chicago Con, ordered the tickets yesterday afternoon after Madre put the money in my account!!!!! So the only thing that's left is the plane tickets....*dances again* Very, very, very awesome. I'm so excited! Cannot WAIT for August to get here!


Tuesday I can renew my housing - and we've all decided we want to come back to Kellum. I know that seems...weird...after all the complaining I've done about it, but in the long run if we hadn't have been assigned to Kellum in the first place, we wouldn't have become friends. Plus, if we REQUEST Kellum, there's a very big chance we'll get it (since it has a reputation for being crappy). But since the rooms are so crappy, everyone prefers to just hang out in the hall - it's a very sociable residence hall. And we checked out one of the big end rooms, and it wouldn't suck too bad if we had those rooms. Of course Paris and Shaq have already decided to be roomies, and Madeline and Amanda have decided to be roomies, so I'd be the one with the 'random' roommate again. *shrug* Oh well...not too big a deal. I doubt I'll end up with someone like I have now. Actually, I'm pretty positive I won't! LoL...


I've started working on another vid, and have a second one lined up after this one. I'm very happy I can make vids now...like ubers happy.


And I need to go work on that one I started, so that's it for this post now. I might updated more later, if I feel the urge/need to!

Anywho, much like I figured (because I am psycho psychic when it comes to these types of...things), we have flocked over to LJ. Basically GJ has gone down the crapper, which is a frelling shame b/c I lvoed it over there... I've had that journal for more than three years now. That's a record for me...


But it's not really a bad tradeoff, considering... I mean, all the good communities are over here (meaning GJ has none, b/c their communities are seriously lacking!), and we already have journals over here...


So from now on, I'll be posting on this journal on a more permanent basis, and use GJ as the secondary journal...Hence the new makeover for this journal with my DV mood theme and brandy new header (which I made over the weekend in the internet famine)!


Anywho, lets move onto other topics...


Classes started up yesterday. I'm taking Latin I, Anthropological Folklore, Classical Mythology (as opposed to Ancient Myth, which I took last semester), and Math for the Liberal Arts (I have to take this course...*kicks math*) this semester. Exciting stuff, I know (well, actually for me, it is quite exciting)


I was suppose to have my recitation for math today, but he says that doesn't start until next week, so after Latin this morning (Which I have Mondays-Thursdays from 9:05am-9:50am), I had no other classes for the day. And thank all the gods and deities that the internet is working again! It really is hell trying to get through the day without it! Especially when you're so desperate to switch to a new journal, but can't!


(I'm apologizing now for the extra spacing...I've gotten in the habit of doing it since I write my fic in wordpad, and i need the extra 'enter' to make it be spaced evenly when I send it off to Tara through hotmail)


So day before yesterday, I finished up season 1 of The Tudors. Took me less than a week to watch it all (and I accomplished it before classes started! Go me!). I'm happy I'm all caught up, but sad 'cause I know I have to wait long past March 30 for new episodes. I don't have Showtime (either here or at home), and I highly doubt iTunes will have the second season up as the episodes air (they just NOW got season 1...lot of good that did me!) I just watched the preview for season 2 (again), and GAH! I want to see it so badly!


During the internet famine, I managed to work on several chapters of Chance on Love, and I think I'm only about two chapters away from completing this part of the series. It's definitely not gonna be the end of the AU...just the end of this particular storyline because, let's face it, Daniel and Vala are gonna end up together! This is me! How could they NOT be together.


I need to send those chapters off to Tara, after I do a minor bit of fact checking. I threw in a sneaky little plot twist that I'm hoping everyone will enjoy. It might come back into play in the next part...I don't know.

Wowsers, today has been a long, but fun, day.

Got up around 9:30...figured I might as well enjoy my last week of "sleep in" to the fullest. (And 9:30 really has become as late as I can sleep. Just knowing that I'm getting close to doing 'school' things again, my body just goes into it's own little 'thing' and I wake up earlier)


Chatted with Madre for a little while. *sigh* Definitely miss her, and she said the babies where running rampid all over the house. Bindi nd Sikozu were walking all over the keyboard as she was talking to me. It's amazing to find out that our kitties speak ALIEM! Anyways, miss them too. (Especially Sikozu...she is just too sweet!).


Headed out to get my SunTrust account set up. And I now know for sure how to get from here to the Union, which is very nice (everything is at the union!). I was planning on getting food before heading to the bank, but since the bank was before were all the eating places were I decided to that first. Anyways, it was still pretty early and I wanted to get it over and done with before I had to wait in line. I was only waiting like ten minutes before someone got to me, so it wasn't that bad. Then I headed over to Einstein Bros. b/c I was desperately craving a bagel and cream cheese. OMG...that was definitely the best bagel I have had in TWO YEARS!!! *sigh* So good...totally delicious yummicles good! After the bagel, I stopped at my mailbox and picked up the Highlander disk that was there.


I had intended to just come back to my room and chillax (alone again), but I ended up seeing some girls I met yesterday while on the way to the One Book/One Campus thing. Decided to hang out with them, and ended up walking BACK to the union (which I had just walked from, but that's neither here nor there). Went to Quiznos (I didn't eat b/c I was still full my delicioso bagel!), then decided to catch one of the buses to see where it went. It ended up heading all the way around campus, and stopping RIGHT at Kellum, which was convenient. We went down to the basement lounge and played some games. Played Uno, Cop and Drug Dealer (which I LVOE, but hadn't played since 8th grade), more Uno, than Ten Fingers (which is basically I Never, without the alcohol).


Went our seperate ways for a little while, in which I came back to my room and tried to figure out where all my classes were. I might have a slight problem with the time between one and the other, but other than that i have a rough plan mapped out about home I'm going to be getting from one to another. After that and a little site checking (ya know, GJ, LJ, MSOL, FF.NET, Dala community...had to check all the usual hot spots), I started watching Highlander. I was in the middle of the sword fight when Claire (one of the girls I was with today) came to my room, and we went down to the lounge where they were having free Pizza and games. And any chance of gettin free food, I'm gonna take it! Ended up playin Crainium with a bunch of people from the building and me and Paris (yes, Paris...how ironic!) played a few rounds of MARIO KART 64! (LVOE LVOE LVOE!! I've been wanting to play it again for soooooooooooooo long now. That game is just classic!)


And it turns out that Claire is actually on my floor, just two doors down from me. She's in 1001 and I'm in 1005. That's very cool b/c besides my roomate and my RA, I didn't know anybody else from my floor.

OMFG! I'm seriously gonna have to buy new batteries for my camera. If that doesn't work, AGH! I'm gonna kill Ted! I TOLD HIM the camera doesn't like being used a lot in one go, but he probably didn't listen. He had to pace himself when taking the pictures, but I doubt he did. *headdesk* I still REALLY need a pick for the day...and I'm NOT gonna let him frell this up for me!


Okie day, I wanna watch the rest of that Highlander ep, and possibly watch the other two on the disk.

Oh, and here are three fic recs for the day!


The first one is actually very good and has been up on both ff.net and the daniel vala comm for a while. It is now finished, which is why it's being posted on here now. Obviously it's a great Dala piece. Basically it's after the season ended and focuses on what happens when Vala is taken as a host to Quetesh once again. Daniel is forced to admit how he really feels about her, and it definitely ends in the greatest happy flufficlest way possible. I especially LVOED Daniel's outburst in the operating room and the last two chapters, which are heavy in emotion and pure dala-esk romance. This is a must read for any DV fans!:

The second is another Dala fic, one that I read all in one night (Sunday night) up til the then most recent chapter 5 (she has updated again with ch.6 today/tonight). Fantabulous fic that focuses after the events of Unending, and follow soon after that final scene in the gateroom. (When you see the fic title, you'll know which part inspired it). Very good establishing of the Daniel/Vala relationship and beautiful little romantical parts. Warning for J/S shippers, there is Cam/Sam being established, but hey, I'm not really picky if Daniel and Vala are together (though I def. prefer Sam with Jack and Cam with Carolyn). Even with that, it's still fantabulosolastic!:

And the last is by one of my all time favorite Dala authors. She just writes AMAZING DV fic!!! This is another one that follows Unending (and those are always LVOE!), and once more has Daniel and Vala facing those feelings that we all know exists between them!:
