taraleesg1 and I both got emails from stargatenovels letting us know Hydra was now available...
I immediately went to the site to order my copy... I've been waiting for this book to come out for over a month.
So I go through all the hassles of filling out shipping information and clicking a million different buttons... and finally get to the World Pay page. And again I enter in all my necessary info, this time the credit card fun stuff and click 'make a payment'.
Well a few pages jump up and then disappear, and the processing page comes up... then it takes me BACK to the page where I filled out the credit card information and in BRIGHT RED LETTERS at the top it tells me my card was DECLINED by my card issuer. WTF?! There is no possible way it can be declined! I was DLing music on iTunes the night before with the SAME CARD. If there was anything wrong with it, I wouldn't have been able to get the songs I wanted...
But seeing as we were having so much fun watching Michael be all adorable and hot in Under the Mistletoe, I didn't fret about it too much.
Of course later when I used the card at the Bookstore, it annoyed me b/c it was another sign that the card was JUST FINE.
So this morning I decided to try again. And alas, it declines my card once more. It helpfully informs me that maybe I should try another card.
And I do - I get Madre to txt me her card number and expiration date. So I put that in... Guess what?!? You got it! Declined her card as well - and seeing as she was at the mall for SEVEN HOURS yesterday, there's no possible way her card is messed up.
It's either the site having a problem, or Teche Back (who issued both of our cards). But if it was the bank, wouldn't we be having problems using the cards altogether??
I've never ordered my Stargate Novels from anywhere else - I like the official site b/c they get the novels out to you so quickly... And I've NEVER had a problem with them before. I've ordered 11 of the 12 books I own from them (Relativity I happened to find in a bookstore at the airport in Atlanta). They're very dependable.
So this upsets me...
I even went to Amazon to see if I could get it there (they're a lot slower in delivery, but at least I've always got the stuff I ordered from them), but they tell me it's only available for Pre-Order. That's ANOTHER reason why I like the official site - while every place else says it's not available yet, stargatenovels is getting it out to you within two days of ordering.
I'm tempted to do the pre-order on amazon, but I don't know how long the wait for it is gonna be. Knowing my luck, I'll order it and have it sent home, and be back here before it even gets there. Then I'd have to wait even longer since Madre would have to send it to me.
All I want is one simple book - WHY does it have to be so damn difficult?!
