Oh, the things I do to be a devoted fangirl.

Thank you, Michael. Thank you for getting me to watch a show I just...don't get the appeal of.

And yes, I HAVE given Supernatural a try...it just didn't speak to me the way it seems to speak to all of you. *shrugs*

I've said there's only one surefire way to get me to watch an episode of a show w/o question...and TPTB of SPN nailed it!

Also, just remembered I need to make sure I have a working tape to record Smallville in the next few weeks.

Oh, stop being so smug. It's not like he's getting me to watch the WHOOOLE season/series. I'll be doing with SPN what I'm doing with Smallville - ONE episode.

And, I knew it was coming! XP

THAT. I see soooo much squeeing on my flist for SPN that it makes me think there's something wrong with me for not getting the appeal. I haven't disliked what I've seen, I just haven't really liked it all that much.

Same here. There's been a handful of times in the past few months where I've though 'maybe I should give it another try?' just so I can be in on the whole squee-fesy that consumes my flist every Thursday night.

I think what made me stop watching it so abruptly was I had Netflixed the first season, and had followed that with NCIS (since I hadn't seen any of the early seasons at that point). So I knew what was coming next on my DVD queue and was anxious to get to something I KNEW I enjoyed.

I think a lot has to do with the cult of J&J when it comes to Supernatural. Jensen and Jared either do it for you, or they don't. I can very well understand why the show wouldn't appeal to you, because obviously there are issues there.

I'm glad you gave it a try though. Even if it was just for the love that is Michael Shanks ♥

And it's great to know he'll be on 5x17! I was all wtf when you mentioned him and SPN in the same sentence - like "What'd I miss?!"

I will admit freely I have a BIG issue with SPN, more so with the fans rather than the fandom itself. I've even ranted a few times here about it. I understand being a devoted fangirl (obviously!), but there's a part of SPN fandom that takes it a tad too far and gives all fangirls everywhere a baaad name.

And I actually gave it a try like three years ago, loooong before there was even a hint Michael could be one it.

LoL! See, that is what earned me the title of Shanksopedia on Twitter. I'm very knowledgeable in Shanks info, usually know about stuff as soon as it's up on MSOL! XD

Exactly - not saying it's bad, just not my cup of tea.

What's funny is I watched both 24 and CSI long before Michael was on them, stopped watching, and then he ended up on both.

I caught a couple eps of Supernatural (now that they're showing it on TNT in the mornings) and yeah, I don't see the appeal of it either. The previews and hype never made me want to watch it, but since it was on I thought I'd give it a try and it's ok. It's not a bad show, but not something that's for me either. *shrugs*

And now it's ALL HIS FAULT (again) that I have to watch in the middle of a season.

To each their own. I think SPN has progressively gotten better. Well, OK, it is probably the HUGE arc that I really like. As far as the guys go, you can see that their acting ability (or at least Jared's) has gotten better. I like Kripke's writing. And he seems to understand fans & fandom. He has a good laugh with us at all the absurdity. *smiles* Whedon & Kripke should get together. I think they might have an unstoppable series...screw FOX. Mischa Collins is great as Castiel, but that is just my opinion. Subtle but it hits you like a 2x4. It will never take the place of Stargate, but I do like it. It's fun. Pure & simple. I didn't watch it for the story until this season and maybe some of last season...I was blown away by it. The last time I had seen such stories was the West Wing. Not that they are of the same caliber, but actual consequences for actions. Yes!
It doesn't hurt that the guys, Mischa included, are not bad on the eyes. But that would be like robbing the cradle for me (4 yrs younger than me as far as guys are concerned is too young). Ewwww!
