Why does everyone make a BIG DEAL out of Daniel cursing in Continuum??


I mean, he's human like the rest of us. He's an ARCHAEOLOGIST/ANTHROPOLOGIST, and I'm sorry - every one of them that I have met or learned under thus far is extremely expressive and often resort to dirty words when talking or worked up.


And you have to remember the tv show was written for...well, TV. It's not like they could make it more realistic by adding the words in. So for the movie, they made it more natural to what people would normally say.


No one makes a big deal out of Cam's 'oh shit' or 'I always knew you were an asshole' in AoT. What's the big deal about Daniel's use of the word 'SHIT' a couple of times. I mean it's the one naughty word I use on a daily basis...

See, I had forgotten he'd even cursed in there until you just mentioned it. It's during the Antarctic stuff, right? I remember being slightly taken aback when ANYONE cursed (Cam included) just because it's not something I'm used to from the show...but I don't get making a big deal out of Daniel doing it.

Yeah - he says 'oh shit' after Cam and Sam walk away, and then says 'who could make this shit up' when being interrogated.

The only time it caught me off guard was in AoT when Cam said 'oh shit', and it wasn't cut off by some explosion or by someone else starting to talk like they'd done before in the show. After that, I kinda expected it and gave a silent cheer when it happened b/c to ME, it made it more realistic.


I don't get it either - but I've seen it brought up in a lot of places.

I did for the SG-1 movies because I wasn't used to it being ACTUALLY said without being stratigically covered up. I liked the cursing - to me, it felt more natural!

What surprises me is that he says 'crap' numerous times in the series what is the difference?

I know over here we have the shits edited out if the movie is shown before the 9 o'clock watershed...we even had the holy buckets commet edited from Mobieus...LOL...I think they thought he said something else...LOLOLOLOLOL

Yeah, here, they edit Daniel's 'Oh God' in Demons to 'Oh Geeze'. There's also other things that are edited out from various episodes that kinda catch me off guard when I watch them on the DVDs after seeing them so many times on tv!

i couldnt even remember daniel did that, but seriously, i dont really give it much of a notice. i mean come on, everyone curses once in a while, its normal/human.

LOL I have no idea. I'm not one to ever use any words, like ever, just 'cause it's the way I was brought up, but I know normal people do it so Daniel doing it didn't bother me.
