Oh, Daniel's circumstances in Continuum are just pure awesome! Another hurdle he has to overcome, and you can SEE how hard it is for him to do it (which I think is a testament to how crucial his friends are to him, proved time and again).
And I really don't understand how that scene is offensive. I honestly thought it was VERY them - how Daniel just KNEW she would want to stay and how her "asking" him shows us that Vala feels Daniel's opinion matters. And the comment he gave to Teal'c was very true to form too b/c him and Vala AREN'T the perfect pair of people and they do get on each other's nerves and she's shown time and again how she can be downright annoying and stubborn. I loved that little ending scene b/c it spoke volumes for where their relationship came from and where it's going.
