Piracy - It's only cool in the movies.

So, this morning I got up to find out that my good friend Naddy on Twitter was having an issue with someone reposting one of her images from VanCon without permission or proper credit. 

It upset me. And it added on top of the fact that I've seen this happen all over the interwebz (essentially Twitter and Tumblr) a lot more lately. Maybe it's b/c these places are relatively 'new' and douches that like to steal and post without credit think they can get away with it (though, of course, with as connected as everything is now on these sites, IDK how they think they'll get away with it).

There seems to be a certain level of respect here on Livejournal when it comes to reposting/crediting - at least what I see on my flist. So that is a positive. And I'm sure many of you read this going 'oh yeah, this is not a new issue'. Most of us are veterans when it comes to this kinda crap, especially those of us that participate in the creative aspects of fandom such as fic writing/vid making. But it doesn't hurt to call out the bad people doing it every once in a while! XP
