While I absolutely agree about him knowing that she would want to stay...but I'm curious as to what you think it says about their...um...developing relationship? I'm not in complete agreement with everyone else that he's being sarcastic and dismissive of her efforts...I tend to hear it more as he's making a comment that the 'host' is literally in for a tough afternoon because he's going to have come to terms with what he's done for the past 2000 years. I was actually more disappointed in his lack of compassion for the 'host'...if he can help Apophis's host die peacefully, then why wouldn't he help Ba'al's?...yeah, yeah...he's much more cynical now...but that underlying compassionate nature is still there. His lack of compassion for the 'host' was one of the things about Continuum that irked me.
